Reasons To Be Cheerful?: "Brady Hoke University"

Submitted by Huckleby4Heisman on

Earlier this season during those player introductions on NBC's Sunday NIght Football, the Chargers' Antwan Applewhite stated his alma mater, SDSU, as "Brady Hoke University," professing the respect and admiration for his coach which, you'd have to admit, is 180 degrees from the SNF Braylon/David Harris/et al facepalm moments we Michigan fans have been suffering all season:

While he may be somewhat short on BCS AQ conference executive experience (in fairness, it should be noted that Gary Moeller's head coaching record was all of 6-24-3 at Illinois before he took over from Bo in 1990), Hoke apparently comes already equipped with his own merch line, so besides giving our defense a zetz he could also provide some immediate economic stimulus to the MGoStore. Here's the SDSU version; I'm confident that the creativity of the MGoBlog community will quickly be able to surpass this:

The place these kids go to school is Michigan, not Lloyd Carr's Michigan, not Brady Hoke's Michigan, not Rich Rodriguez's Michigan.

Maybe it shouldn't be about loving one guy over another, even if the current head coach is liked by the pro athletes.

Maybe it should be about the institution.

Let's not forget that all these coaches wanted to come to here in the first place because of the history that happened before them. No coach can be credited with making the program relevant like other schools. Coaches come and go and once they do, we still have Michigan. Everyone needs to keep that in mind.
