Rb rotation if we land Harris

Submitted by Big Blue 4 on

With all the news regarding Harris being positive for the good guys, I cant help but be excited for the rotation of running backs on the roster for the following 3-5 years.

I have to say I was very impressed and encouraged by the freshman backs this year, and apart from two or three games very disappointed by D. Smith as the starting tailback. (aside from pass blocking ability) I believe Chris Evans was the most dynamic back on the roster followed by Karan Higdon. With that said, landing Harris would not only make the back field that much better but I think the best stable of running backs in the country except for Alabama.

Harris- Speed, Power, Size, Can catch out of the backfield.

Evans- Speed, agility, can catch out of the backfield and in the slot.

Higdon- A balanced all around back but no elite at any particular ability.

Walker- Not convinced just yet on Walker. I believe he would be servicable but not an Evans or Harris.

The rest are Kurt Taylor and O'Maury Samuels Who I believe If we get Harris will not end up in this class.

The key will be the offensive line development moving foward. If they jel and our running backs compete like the way we belive they will with our coaching staff. Close games that we could not quite finish  like Ohio State and Florida State will not happen again.

"Hey there, Cart. Look, I don't mean to complain, but you are, like, 30 or 40 feet in front of Horse. And since we need Horse to pull YOU, could you maybe slow down a bit? Or could you even back up a touch? OK, great, thanks."

I think Harris would immediately be the featured back, but I don't think Harbaugh would run him into the ground with 25 carries a game. I would hope they could still find plenty for Evans to do, and I'd like to see Walker in action before I form an opinion about him.

I don't really care what the pecking order is.  We would essentially put a guy on the field every down with the potential to break a 20+ yard run with a sliver of daylight.  I would like to see how Walker does.  Between him, Evans and Higdon, that's possibly one of the top RB tandems in the conference.  If Samuels stays in the class, that's another guy with potential home run ability.

If we land the #1 RB in this class, our OL will be the only thing that could stop us from rushing for over 200 YPG.

Speculating that both Samuels and Taylor would decommit if we landed Harris is exactly what we don't condone on this board.

We can get back to this conversation sometime in February once the recruiting dust settles.

We won't land him.

He's just been trolling us.

He already has a flight, he already knows where he's going.

Tua sounds like a bit of a dick for spilling the beans though.

I'm confused by this as well. It's been pretty clear that he was redshirted mainly for study purposes. He needed to get settled in, and by the time that was done it made no sense to waste the year of elgibity. I think walker will turn heads come spring whether Harris comes or not.

why I prefer OT season to 'crootin season.  I am probably in a minority and may be a masochist in that regard but . . . if he wants to play somewhere else . . . OK.  Cool.  Good for him.  IDGAF.

I'd rather talk about Michigan players who want to play for Michigan, or countertops, or what my favorite car is, or favorite Ann Arbor Bar is or whatever M related.
