Rank your coach picks? (and other stuff)

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
Don't care if it's a list of one or twenty...rank your coaching choices.

And other stuff. It's only taking a bit over an hour and a half to hit 200. Maybe we'll go for 300 (of the non-Spartan variety).

Though about 75 of the last thread might have been about pizza....

Omitting Fitzgerald/Meyer/Stoops/Peterson because they are not coming, Mullen because without Diaz I am nervous as to how good he really is.

1) Patterson

2) Harbaugh (yes, in that order, Harbs is starting to really piss me off and he would bolt for the NFL in a year)

3) Miles (Hold my nose, but I will take it)

4) Mike Bellotti (probably wouldn't come and is older, but another shot at a big job could give him some energy and drive)

5) John Harbaugh (I am a Ravens fan and I think his approach to dealing with players is very much like a college coach, very much a "rah rah" type)

6) Gruden (would be a great recruiter

7) Hoke (has done a good job resurrecting two programs, but... no.  I hope to God it doesn't come to this)

Honestly, Mattison is a fine assistant coach but I don't see him as HC material.  The sense around Baltimore is that he got the DC job because when Rex Ryan left he was the only one with experience around.  I think the D has taken a step back and he has been a bit less aggressive than Ryan was.  Besides, he doesn't need to have any leadership because Ed Reed and Ray Lewis act as de facto position coaches and coordinators.

Mattison would of course be a great DC (not that that is happening here), but not HC.

I am getting way too many good laughs from MGoBlog tonight.  Great entertainment after a day of real life at work!  Keep it going!  My wife can not understand why I am laughing so hard tonight.

I'm down with a player coach but not sure who I would pick yet.  Maybe Kovacs so we can be more defensive minded.  Shit, this is fun!

I recently received news from my father concerning the CC. My dad's work partner has a best friend in the UM Athletic Department. The mystery person in the Department had recent talks with Bo Pelinis agent who says Miles to Michigan on Saturday and Pelini to LSU. Thats coming from the 419 Toledo Ohio so when the news breaks we already knew.. GO BLUE

how about a former 1-AA coach, the 1 and only Mr. Jerry Moore of App State? Not as crazy as one would think, I mean he has a proven track record, great success at the 1-AA/FCS level. Offensively it would also be a smooth transition, Armanti Edwards = poor mans Denard...

considering taking what DB said in the press conference, the UM job will be from a D1 coach.

1)  JH

2)  GP - just look what he did at TCU, could UM football around.

3)  LM - Les wins. Shit he loses, he is the mad hatter.  Of course a NC too!

4)  Gary Pinkel - Proven track record, midwest ties.

5)  BH - really will attempt his hardest, to play smash mouth football.  Also fix defense.

6)  I really can't understand Bo Pelini.  But if everyone is putting this psychopath as a HC on there list I will too.   Thought for sure he was a buckeye.  Really a buckeye coaching at UM. Nah.

My sources tell me that Pelinis Agent was the one that had the scoop on the CC. I think its pretty definite from what I have been hearing . So I say it again it goes Miles to Michigan , and Pelini to LSU

1) Les Miles-Named Coach Saturday

The I'm afraid Hoke is getting the job. No one else wants it. Although unproven he's might not be that bad. We have to embrace whoever it is or we will end up where we are know in 3 years. GO BLUE
