Purdue gives Hope one-year contract extension

Reward for putting a beat down on OSU and not shaking Rich Rod's hand after squeaker: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/ncaa/04/14/purdue-hope.a… Only one year though - Is this guy for for real or just lucky? Was OL coach for Tiller - meh. How hard to coach 350lb corn-fed farm boys to fall forward? Eastern Ky Head Coach Record (not exciting): 2003 Eastern Kentucky 7-5 6-2 2004 Eastern Kentucky 6-5 6-2 2005 Eastern Kentucky 7-4 7-1 2006 Eastern Kentucky 6-5 5-3 2007 Eastern Kentucky 9-3 8-0 Did they fall prey to "he's an Iowa man" line?

Even though you're an alum, you have to admit he was a douche about the whole suspension thing. Heck, I even liked Purdue before that incident. I knew a guy that went there, I stayed a night in West Lafayette, and hey, the mascot was pretty sweet (Sparty didn't have anything for Pete). I will enjoy going to watch that game on the road this year and seeing us run up the score to make up for the handshake in person.

Wow, I just looked up Purdue on Rivals to look at the recruits they've gotten over the last 5 years (the guys who will be 5th year seniors through freshman this fall). They signed a TOTAL of 7 OL over that period, only one of which was a 4 star and at least three of which are 2 stars. 2 of those were from the 2006 class, so if they didn't RS (unlikely) they're gone, and if they did they're gone after this fall. So next fall, Purdue will have 5 scholarship OL, not counting true freshman, and assuming no one left the program. Not even considering the rest of their recruiting has been piss poor over that period, Purdue should be really terrible for the foreseeable future.

I really don't like Hope after the RR handshake deal etc. Just kind of a low class bore. I would be sorry if he left now because I want him there when we paste Purdue this year. RR will never say it but you know that is one game he would really like to run the score up in.

I realize things haven't gone too well recently, but I'll still take our hillbilly over their hillbilly. Until recently, I haven't been able to get too worked up over Purdue. After last year, though? I'd like to see RichRod run up the score on "Danny."

That is one more time that he gets to lose to Michigan, starting with this year. Hope apparently wanted to start a rivalry with Michigan. For the time being, I think he has one. As the old adage goes, "be careful what you ask for."
