Psu vs Osu predictions

Submitted by Inman on
Slow day and I need some football discussion in my life. What is everyone's prediction for the Psu vs Osu matchup. I personally think Osu wins something like 35-17. Hope I'm wrong

PSU was quite foolish to go all out against UM.  They were virtually guaranteed to win with just a few minor tweaks.

Unfortunately they will lose by 10+ points in Columbus.

The sad thing is that I'm not sure they really went all out.  They just executed a better game plan and watched the points rain down.

You and I could have made some of those untouched runs/catches where the entire Michigan LB and safety core was schemed to the other side of the field.

It's well documented on several football sites including this one that Penn State unveiled a number of heretofore unseen offensive wrinkles against Michigan.  Michigan defensive players talked about it.  Franklin himself and his players talked about practicing them during their bye week.

I was glad to see PSU got their 'Best Played Game of the Season' out of the way before arriving in Columbus.

OSU's D-line will give Penn State's offense fits, but PSU's pass offense is a threat against OSU's secondary...but will McSorley have enough time before he gets clobbered?

According to S&P+, Pittsburgh & MIchigan are the 2 best offenses PSU has faced (80th & 85th). OSU's offense won't be nearly as good against PSU as they were the past 5 games, but PSU's defense has still not seen an offense anything close to this yet.

I think PSU is spent after whooping Michigan and OSU wins a hard fought game going away.

I don't think PSU can match the intensity and energy they played with last week.  I think osu behind a big game from JT Barrett wins a close one.

I also think what the PSU offense put on tape last week can now be game planned for by the osu staff.

I predict that PSU will continue to deny JoePas's knowledge and enabling of child molestation. I predict their fans will continue to choose football over a strong moral stance.

Unfortunately, that means that I predict that I'll root for OSU this game. God that's a shitty prediction.

I predict that this deep quandary will cause me to drink heavily.

I'm torn.  PSU certainly looks most capable of replicating what OU did to the OSU defense.  Given that it is in Columbus I have to give the edge to the home team and say OSU by 3 points.

Obviously I'm a fan of the Scarlet & Gray but I've also watched PSU play. I honestly do not trust our offense yet. Maybe it's just a really bad hangover from the Clemson whooping behind the woodshed? Can't say. I think I'll continue to feel this way until after the first quarter of football where I hope to have a better grasp on what this years team is really about.

If I was forced to pick a score I'd go OSU by 3 in a comeback win. I'm predicting a 7-17 PSU halftime lead but we adjust and win it with a field goal as time runs out 27-24. Although I've been known to not know what the hell I'm talking about. So....

All that aside I still believe this years version of The Game is going to be a good one.

i think last year's version of the game will have to suffice as a 'good one' for another year.

saw your post in the tragic 'perspective' thread.  very cool.  you hang out here with us and keep being a good dude and you will be welcome here.

For what it's worth we all know the records get thrown out during The Game. I don't foresee this year being any different especially being played in AA. But maybe this falls in line with my previous post about not being sold on our offense just yet.

I'm not a troll so no worries from my end. But if I am trolled I will set you straight in a factual manner lol. I'm not so much of a homer that I can't see the flaws in the team that I root for. Overall I just love the damn game.

If it's any consolation I am also a Raiders fan, one of my favorite players of all time might of played around these parts once upon a time. #24 And my fiance is a Wolverine so there's that. lol.

Also can I cast upvotes/likes/points etc? Is there a post threshold of some sort?

If you click on the green up arrow it's a "like" if you click on the red down arrow it's a "dislike".

("dislikes" cost you a point, but don't worry, in many cases . . . it's worth it.

I just added to your point total, you should be up to 100 in no time.

If you want to speed things up, just post this:  "Barrett was short by 6 inches."

trying to be objective, it could be a great game.   i dunno, if i was a betting man i think i might take the molesters and the points.   tough call.

and have a deep hatred for OSU.  I was offered a free ticket for this game and have accepted to go (God have mercy on my soul).  Ever since Franklin was hired for the Penn State job I have disliked him and the University.  If somehow both teams can lose on Saturday, I will be the happiest spectator in the stadium.

but I respect him. I cannot say the same for James Franklin - that last snap instead of a kneel down reinforces this feeling.

Also despite our hopes OSU isn’t going anywhere fast. A win and potential playoff appearance could help PSU get/keep enough recruiting momentum that they get to a talent level that even Franklin couldn’t fuck it up — which would make them a much longer term problem in the division.

I will not be rooting against OSU this week which I rationalize as being slightly different than rooting for them.
