Pryor says he's staying for senior season

Not much of an article, but apparently Pryor said he is definitely planning on staying in '11. It's not surprising, given the uncertainty in the NFL after this season and Pryor's lack of NFL-quality play so far in his career, but it is interesting nonetheless.

This means you don't have to root for him to be good-enough-to-jump-to-the-NFL-but-only-when-not-playing-Michigan--you can just root for him to be bad. (or, if you are even more extreme, you can root for him to get injured, but that's not very nice.)

just be the last quarterback that we have to face before whoever we play for that Big Ten Title Championship. He only wants to comeback so that he can say he played in the inagural game (Title)only to see the school that he spurned, play for not only the conference title, but the 2012 National Championship Title.

Manny Harris's declaration he's going to stay in school, Donovan Warren's stay in school, or Brett Favre's I'm retiring talks?

Bottom line-- don't believe anything an athlete says about staying in school / contract negotiations / free agency until the money has been paid. Unless he's Tim Tebow, then you can just scribe it to a golden tablet.

Icon    8 DeVier Posey | 6-2, 200, Jr., 2V
   5 T. Washington | 6-1, 181, Sr., 3V
 17 Grant Schwartz | 6-0, 194, Jr., 2V
 83 Joe Cech | 6-2, 186, So., SQ
Icon  12 Dane Sanzenbacher | 5-11, 180, Sr., 3V
 80 Chris Fields | 6-0, 185, Fr., RS
 15 James Jackson | 5-10, 184, So., 1V

Here is their WR depth chart.  I would be SHOCKED if Posey stays for his Senior year, especially since I have a feeling Pryor will just barely be better than he was last year. If Posey leaves, the top 3 WRs of this year are gone. Couple that with the loss of 7 starters on defense after this year, Pryor will have to be relied on heavily in 2011 if he stays. I think he would be unwise to stay until 2011.

tOSU can easily recruit a top notch hot shot WR to help (even if he's a frosh in Pryor's senior year)... in fact itt might even be a draw for a top WR prospect to know he'd be counted on to start day 1 with a highly touted senior QB... more concerning would be the OL experience, but tOSU breeds those guys in vats so I wouldn't think there'd be too much turnover there either.

Really?

Devier Posey was a five star

James Louis was a four star with offers from every Florida school and multiple SEC programs

Essentially the same story for Corey Brown.

Duron Carter (who will be back) was good enough to start on a BCS-bowl bound Buckeye team

And there are a host of other elite talents waiting in the wings: James Jackson, Chris Fields, even 6-7 Ty Williams, who's already getting rave reviews in spring practice.

I'm not sure he'll be able to, but Duron Carter plans to go back to Ohio State after getting his grades up last I heard. He probably would have been OSU's 2nd receiver this year (yes, over Sanzenbacher), and if he comes back, they'll be down Posey, but have plenty of young talent in the pipeline.

Not that I want to see him stay, but this isn't a great sign he'll do so.

at my job and not going off to date supermodels, play on the PGA  Tour and buy out Warren Buffett.    Seems like the same chance as Pryor has of being a 1st round selection in the NFL draft.  Of course he's staying...

Am I alone in my opinion that Pryor will not be an NFL QB? I am not trying to say he sucks or anything like that, I just don't see it. I think the kid is a phenominal athlete, but he has a long way to go before he is taking snaps on Sundays.

If the Buckeyes fail to win the Big Ten title this year, Pryor might come back for senior season. I could see him doing that.  I do think the games at Wisconsin and at Iowa could be stumbling blocks for the Buckeyes this year.  Even the Michigan game could be an unpleasant surprise.

The receivers were mentioned earlier, but what about the OSU OL? There's a number of NFL draft prospects there too.

What single boneheaded comment would you be refering to.....

" I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever"

Ohhh yeahhh...that boneheaded comment..lol dude 50 years from now i'll still be using this line.

Despite the "NFL training" he is getting in Tressel's scheme, Pryor is not, nor will he ever be, a classic, drop-back, NFL QB.  He may turn into a decent WR or TE, but there is no way he plays QB under the current NFL paradigm.  Besides, under the inevitable new CBA, he might have to take a pay cut to play in the NFL.

ahhh Tater, you never fail to force feed your homeristic rants down our throats. Thanks. Yes, we get it, a world in which OSU, MSU, and ND players can be decent human beings and pro prospects does not exist.

Pryor is nowhere near NFL-ready, and I don't think he will be after this year either. I just can't see him playing QB in the NFL.

(or, if you are even more extreme, you can root for him to get injured, but that's not very nice.)

maybe he will be involved in a sex scandal and completely lose his ability to perform (on the field)

For someone who manages a blog based on a satirical concept, you sure seem to lack a sense of humor these days.  I've been a long time reader of this blog and I almost never post, but I just have to let you know that I've grown tired of you and your buddy poguemahone invading threads to scold posters.  Are you two joined by a double sided dildo a la Requiem for a Dream?  I get that some of the comments are less than classy (mine included), and I take them with a grain of salt and move on.  Many of us take to this blog and board for both info and entertainment.  Stop policing the board and get back to writing stale pieces about the proletariat.  We get it, you're witty and stuff, blah blah blah.

he also said we all steal and murder.  pryor doesn't really know what he's talking about, even when talking about himself.

and I assume this is an insinuation that he's fathered a few kids.

Seriously, the insinuations that the kid is a sexual predator (a few comments up), or a babby daddy, and the continued beating/exhuming/re-beating of the corpse of the "everybody murders" quote (that, at worst, belies a lack of intelligence, not morals) says more about the small-mindedness of some on this blog than anything else.
