Predictions for Saturday

Submitted by Dix on

I tried to search for a thread but didn't find one.

Make your Saturday predictions here,  I'll start:

24-21 Michigan wins

at least two michigan scores set up by good field position following good punt returns

the field goal is under 30 yards and not kickedi n the 4th quarter

Michigan ends the game after having received the ball the final time with over 3.5 minutes remaining, and they run the clock out

Michigan punts 9 times

I always hate predicition threads, but ESPECIALLY this week.  I have absolutely no idea what to expect, and I don't think anyone else does either.  I could see our inexperienced O-line get manhandled, and our QBs and RBs getting smushed like little bugs all day.  I could also see us getting Shaw, Mcguffie, and Odoms the ball in open space, and let them do something awesome.  Both of these things will probably happen in varying amounts.

The only thing that I'm going to predict is that I'll be drunk by the time the game is over.  Whether it's in celebration or mourning, we'll find out in about 48 hours.

I was watching the Alabama Citrus Bowl on BTN the other day and I saw an unbelievable amount of penalties coming from the Alabama young offensive line. In keeping with the current theme of being terrified of our Oline, does anyone think crippling penalties could cost us more on the OL than actual bad protection/plowing? This, to me, would be even more frustrating than typical bad line play.

31-14 Michigan.  250 yards on the ground, 150'ish thru the air, mostly on screens. Defense looks good, offense looks promising yet severely unpolished. One back goes for 100+ yards.

I expect to see many turnovers from the new offense and young ball carriers. If we keep it under three I think we win.

Agree with much of the above.  If Michigan keeps the gameplan relatively simple, they should still be able to move the ball and cut down on the errors, particularly penalties and turnovers.  They do that, they win and cover the spread.

Predictions come true never, but here's mine anyway.  M, 17-13.  It's gonna be a win, but not the kind of game that'll ease any worries about what'll happen the rest of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan had something like 19 points - one touchdown and 4 field goals.  We have a good place kicker, but will have trouble moving the ball.  Our defense and special teams will give us good field position enough times to get in field goal range often, but we will have a hard time converting them to scores.  Since our defense is so solid, I think 19 points may be enough to win.  Maybe 19-17.

Bill Swerski: Alright, now let's get back to our discussion. Bears vs. the Assembled Choir of Heavenly Angels.

Pat Arnold: The whole choir?

Bill Swerski: Well, Saraphone, Jerebone - the whole nine yards.

Pat Arnold: Angels.

Carl Wollarski: Angels, but it's close.

Todd O'Conner: Bears!

Bill Swerski: Alright. Ditka vs. God in a golf match. Now, he's a good golfer.

Pat Arnold: Ditka.

Todd O'Conner: Dit-ka!

Carl Wollarski: Ditka.

Lets say the Wolverines got shrunk down to about 14 inches tall...

OK, who would win a fight, the Wolverines, or a hurricane?

The hurricane's name is Hurricane Wolverine.
