Players Posting??

Submitted by Ziff72 on
Sometimes weird thoughts pop in my head. Has anybody ever heard of a player posting on MGOBLOG? With all this Tate stuff and Roh's dad the last couple of days I thought wouldn't it be funny if Tate came on here and said "hey douchebag I'm Tate Forcier and I'm not transferring" or I how great would it to be for Mike Williams to come on and say "Hey Brian this is Mike Williams I didn't have responsibility on the tight end that was Kovacks give him the -3. They would probably get negged because no one would believe them. I'm sure they are coached on not letting info out, but are they specifically forbidden from posting in football forums by RR?

Worlds Collide is classic +1 for you sir, I have to say I was expecting the "I'm insert player here" I forgot to add that as a disclaimer on my original note -1 for you...too obvious.

a tad misguided, perhaps inmature, and I imagine a little regretful. But I don't think he's a douchebag. I would bet he doesn't spray tan or pop his collars, or have a completely unrealistic image of himself that would shatter his reality if he ever looked in the magical mirror and saw his true self. When anyone does something that disrupts any part of our internal prism we automatically label them a douchebag, when in reality we should save it for the true douchebags. Like Justin Boren. /rant

+1 to your post, but I had to laugh about your comment: "or have a completely unrealistic image of himself that would shatter his reality if he ever looked in the magical mirror and saw his true self." We are talking about a cornerback who would get up and waive his arms like Deon Sanders on the 1 pass in ten that happened to fall incomplete through no action of his own. Not saying that's enough to be called a douchebag, but you could argue he did have somewhat of an unrealistic image of himself while playing corner this year.

Just kidding, I'm not! Just kidding, I am, but people call me boobie! Just kidding, they call me Sissy! Just kidding, they'd never call me that! Just kidding, they would, but not to my face! Just kidding, they do, but I don't have a face! Just kidding, my face is there, but it's invisible! Just kidding, my whole body is invisible! Just kidding, it's not invisible, it's imaginary! Just kidding, I'm not imaginary, I'm Tacopants! Just kidding... just kidding... just kidding... ... EDIT: Nobody's watched SNL recently eh? I mean, it's gone way downhill, but there's still some funny stuff in there.

with player names. I assumed they were just fans of said player, but maybe not. I just saw a Mooseman reply. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a couple players that post stuff under an alias as well.

Used to post on either the scout or rivals board... can't really remember which. Once he got to campus as a frosh, i believe he had to can it, though.

Last year I had a class with a player who has contributed on defense this year. During the d-coordinator search he would check mgoblog/rivals/scout before class, presumably to find out who his new coordinator would be.

...but you don't think 18-20 yr football players waste time doing stupid shit?? Fabrezee comes to mind. I wouldn't be surprised you got a bunch of guys hanging out playing Madden and one of the guys goes on MGoblog and says "hey RVB" RVB looks up from his controller "yeah" "B. Cook gave you a -4 for getting blasted last week". Laughter insues as they dog him out. RVB says hey log on and say your an insider and that Tate isn't starting this week, that'll freak out all those nerds on the forum. Far fetched??

If I knew that players name, I'd be sure to make a negative comment or two, just to live up to expectations. Not really--in fact that player was probably a national merit scholar. How true that is. I don't have any idea what is going on behind the scenes. But I have to say the public part has been a bit rough as of late...hopefully things will improve starting with Wisconsin Saturday.

Would these friends of yours prefer that you read ESPN, FOX Sports, the FreeP? I'm not giving you a hard time at all, I'm just confused as to why they have a problem with this site. There are asshats around here, of course, but I think that if I were a player I'd prefer any serious attempt at understanding the game, such as a UFR, to what passes for commentary anywhere else. No?

I get the impression that they think of it as a locker room for the fans. Like what has already been posted, it's kinda the whole 'these fans commenting on us but not really knowing what goes on inside the program' type of thing. none of them have a problem with mgoblog. it's the same as reading press clippings or watching gameday if you're a player. There don't have much incentive to read their own press, good or bad. On a side note, it is weird to watch game with them though.

I'm sure some read it, I'm not sure they post. I'm sure former players post though, and that will become more common as players who are more aware of this blog move on from the team.

i'd imagine that the coaching staff advises players NOT to post on fan forums, lol. what a disaster that would be.

Even though they probably don't post here, if we could pretend they do once in awhile, maybe we'd be a much easier e-fan base to deal with (looking at the mass hysteria when we aren't winning).
