Pioneer-Cass tech

I made it to the Big Game at rynearson, thought you guys would be interested as to see how a couple of UM recruits played. hollowell was very rarely targeted, and when he was, broke up a couple of passes. Meanwhile, royce Jenkins stone was good at LB but disappeared at times; he also played some RB in short yardage situations. Terry Richardson was injured after hauling in a deep pass, but apparently returned some time after and picked off a pass to seal the victory. Kishon wilcher, the coaches son, played well on D but suffered from the dropsies on offense. And then for pioneer, drake Johnson made a great impression on basically everybody at the game. 5 total TD's, 3 on offense, on on special teams, and one pick-6. The game was a high scoring affair and I felt it was a great start to 2010 for HS football.

...A2.com story (there's no mention of Hollowell, FWIW).  Cass Tech d. Pioneer 44-42, BTW.

P.S. varsityblue After a crazy final minute with 2 turnovers, Cass Tech defeats Pioneer 44-42. Hollowell finished with about 5-6 tackles and a couple PBU.

P.P.S., this is not OT.

That Drake Johnson kid had 6 TD's actually, and he plays for Pionner not Chelsea.  He ran or 2, passed for 1, caught another, a punt return, and a pick 6.  Not a bad days work if i say so myself.

Drake Johnson has the ability to be a world class hurdler in the near future. He's the top hurdler in the state and one of the best in the country. There is a huge chance we could see him in the Olympics one day soon.

14.17 110H

8.05 60H                          Both times set as a sophomore.

He was by far the best player on the field yesterday.  If he keeps playing at a similar level all season I see no reason why he wouldnt be an ESPNU top 150 player next year.  Completely dominant, I would bet that no player in the history of Michigan HS football has scored a Rushing td, passing td, receiving td, return td, and def. td in the same game.  Ridiculous...

I didn't make it to the game at EMU last night, but having gone to two or three of Pioneer's games last year I'm not at all surprised to see that Johnson went off.  On a team with Ricardo Miller last season I thought that Drake was Pioneer's most impressive player, and this was as a sophomore - albeit he had more opportunities to show off his skills given Ricardo's dependency on a mediocre quarterback.  I would venture to guess that he will end up being a high D-1 recruit, although I wasn't aware of his track prowess - not sure if that will effect his decision making process when it comes to football.  I will get out and see Pioneer play in Dexter on Thursday to see how he follows up this performance.
