Pete Carroll and RR

If I was an 18-year old kid with no connections to anyone, I'd want to play for Pete Carroll. A guy who would say, "yeah, we'll lose a couple time outs in order to do something fun" seems like a guy who would make my college experience the best it could possibly be. Maybe it would only work in L.A., but Carroll is a master at making college football "Showtime." Michigan has always run a different sort of appeal: you're going to come here and be part of the greatest tradition in sports and get a degree from the greatest university that emphasizes football. That's a strong appeal as well, but Carroll's appeal would seem to be a bit more seductive to a kid / young man in high school. I liked the surprise swim event RR threw for the team in August. That seems like something Carroll would do. And I like the reputation for innovation that RR has established, at least on the offensive side of the ball. I think he has the potential to be a Pete Carroll, and maybe even more. We shall see. Of course, if USC drops to UCLA this week because of a needed TO, everyone will be saying what an idiot Carroll is. But some risks are worth taking.

Carroll says "Look, we're going to win games. And there's tons of hot tail. And beaches. And Nick Lachay might let you look at Vanessa Minnillo's tits" ans that's all it takes.

Fuck that, god dammit. I want a coach that will chew my ass and make me a god damn better football player and not some little pussy ass whiny bitch like those Southern Cal pansies. (and now back to our regularly scheduled family values)
