Penn State Game Parking

Submitted by VAWolverine on

If you are heading to the PSU game in State College on October 21, you need to call the PSU Athletics customer assistance line at 800-648-8269 (option #1) by this Friday, October 6 to obtain a $22 parking pass that will be mailed to you.

If you do not obtain a pass by the end of business on Friday, you will have to stop by the Bryce Jordan Center the day of the game to pick one up. Michigan fans can park in designated yellow lots (indicated on the online campus parking map).

The gentleman who took my call is the guy possessing the voice from the online message you will hear when your call is initially answered. He asked a lot of questions about my interest in PSU sports and I told him I come to games on campus from time to time. I did not want to identify my affiliation since I had to give him my credit card number to pay for the parking pass.

When we were ending the phone call he said thank you for your order and go PSU, to which I replied "See you on the 21st. GO BLUE!"

We ended up staying in Altoona, I think, and that was a bit of a score. Everything remotely near Happy Valley is booked out months ahead. All of PA descends there. Also know that the drive out after the game is going to be awful, no matter where you're staying.

We stayed in DuBois in 2015, worked out well for us.

Not really any pro tips, besides prepare to spend anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes trying to leave Happy Valley. Once you get to the major interstates though the traffic is fine.

In terms of going there, it really wasn't that bad (maybe 15-20 min of bad traffic), but obviously go early rather than right before game time.

I will be there with the MGoBus and secured RV spot very close to the stadium. Seth and Ace are heading down with us.

I will make sure that Seth tweets out our location so anyone who wants can come have a beer with us. Probably 90 minutes before kickoff.  Can't wait.

The only way to get an RV close to the stadium like we did is to pay up.  I bought the last one on StubHub sub $800.  The $40 RV lot is a 20-minute shuttle from the stadium.  I think it is $10 per person. You will be in a big field essentially 10 miles away.

I don't have tickets, but thought I'd stop by to say fuck every single one of the JoePa-logists (TM) from the top of their administration to any janitor that knew what was going on for decades there.

Oh, and fuck Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, and all the asshole lettermen at PSU that support Paterno and the prevalent false narrative at PSU about the scandal.

/ Checks list.  Yep - that covers it./

what is your interest in Penn State athletics, which I thought was an interesting question. I am on record in their system of coming to PSU athletic events when Michigan is their opponent in football, basketball and baseball. He could have easily figured that out.

I have attended all M-PSU football games at Penn State since the first game in 1993. Younger adult PSU supporters are much less hospitable to their Michigan guests than what they initially were. They are acutely aware of the 25 gallon drum of Wolverine whup ass that we put on them last September and they want pay back on 10/21.

I get that all the time --- calling my bank, a ticket office, my cable company.

I called Purdue a few years ago to get tickets to a PSU/Purdue football game.  Guy asked me the same type of question.  I answer, and he's next trying to sell me tickets to PSU's b-ball game at Mackey in the winter.
