Paul Finebaum lobs smack from the cheap seats at Harbaugh

Submitted by Maizen on

He got petty and personal today...

"I think Jim Harbaugh's problem is he's never grown up. He just doesn't have any maturity".

"At some point you like to look at a head football coach at a major university, which Michigan is, and see an adult, see someone that is mature, see someone that doesn't throw tantrums on the sidelines, that doesn't always cause division like he did at San Francisco."

"At some point you have to graduate from being the spoiled kid to someone who is respected, and I'm not sure he has quite reached that yet."

"I'll tell you who he reminds me of a little bit, Lane Kiffin at Tennessee, who clearly didn't know what he was doing, who was out of control, who was like a puppy running into walls, and in some respects that's Jim Harbaugh now at Michigan."

"I will tell you what he is, and what will happen, he had a good first season, but he made fun of Hugh Freeze for wanting to spend time with his family, maybe Jim Harbaugh should actually spend some time working on special teams and he wouldn't have had the biggest special teams failure in college football history."

"He got run out of the stadium in what Joey Galloway calls the greatest rivalry in the country."

+1 Insightful.

Jim Harbaugh only picks on the bully that can take it and deserves it.

When Blake O'Neil dropped the punt, it was devastating to Michigan.  And yet Harbaugh showed the maturity he is accused of not having and refused to throw the kid under the bus in public.  He supports his players in word and deed.

For someone who is sick talking about Harbaugh, he sure does do a lot of talking about Harbaugh. Speaking of juvenile, it's pretty juvenile to continue to talk this much shit about Harbaugh when you've never even had a conversation with him, let alone met him. The comparison between Harbaugh and Kiffin is an absolute joke. Harbaugh actually knows how to successfully be a pro and collegiate head coach, which is much more than I can say for Kiffin. As a matter of fact, St. Nick was also a failure in the pros.

Please stop holding this guy on some pedestal as though what he says matters. The only reason he is getting any attention at all is because ESPN owns the SEC. Nobody in the SEC even likes Finebaum or listens to him aside from Bama fans. And even in that community he is hated by as many people as like him. He is totally irrelevant outside about 100 square miles of SEC country. He's been defending Butch Jones as well as Hugh Freeze right through all their scandals. He is trying to circle the wagons to protect his beloved SEC but he's is sounding more and more like a fool as his stage gets bigger and bigger. He was a regional voice that is showing he does not have the chops for a national stage. Just let him either away and die already. Nobody cares what he has to say.

Yeah, this is just like Kiffin at Tennessee... And Harbaugh totally doesn't spend time with his family. STFU Paul Steinbaum. You're butt hurt that Michigan is getting all this attention because it's not about Alabama anymore. Sorry. Deal with it. This guy LEFT the NFL to go back to Michigan. Michigan is special. The SEC is not. Facts are facts. What alum go back to places like Tuscaloosa or Knoxville? They don't. It's not Ann Arbor.

Rant over.

And Fuck this Finebaum guy.

Harbaugh does throw tantrums. And I can also see how Harbaugh can tend to make things black and white (it's our way or you're against us) Sometimes he's too direct, or without tact. But the MSU special teams part and the OSU are just so far off. Weak. I'm sure Harbaugh is smart enough not to engage.

I'm pretty sure I've read that Harbaugh once broke his hand punching a media member who talked smack about him (Jim Kelly??). This just a temper tantrum to get attention. The guy knows where his paycheck comes from. I don't mind a homer. A STUPID homer is not OK, and a stupid homer who engages in ad hominem attacks is the worst. Having him against us is far better than having a guy like him on our side.

Why do we have to make a thread every time this guy talks about Harbaugh? He's an SEC knob-slobber who gets a paycheck from ESPN. This guy should be given the same treatment as an Ace Williams thread: AUTO BOLIVIA

I find the SEC's fear really entertaining. This offseason is so much more eventful, all because of our head coach. I think we're missing the point if we're not appreciating this fact every time one of these stories gets written.

Is there a reason we have to start a thread every time someone says something bad about Harbaugh?  Why not just ignore it?

Because Hugh Freeze has to hold satellite camps and can't afford to bring his kids with him on the road.  Hotel rates go up in the summer and he only makes $13K a day.

'Lane Kiffen at TN who didn't know what he was doing?" No, JH has never experienced success at any level.

"biggest special teams failure in college football history?" How did that  FG attempt ordered by Saban vs. Auburn work out  again?

We'll make you a one-time offer. You keep Phyllis and we'll keep Jim. Let's see who makes out better. Damn, you even wait until after your  show to get some courage in you. You fuckers are running scared....................But in all honesty, I don't blame you one fucking bit. And BTW, we just learned of the SEC's donation to the Sun Belt. Whoops

Hahahahaha "Kick 6 > Blocked punt"

C'mon SEC... Let's be real... Michigan pretty much dominated MSU from start to finish... One fluke play lost us that game... In year ONE of Harbaugh... Let me know how year one of Saban went again? Yeah. Kick rocks. B1G > $EC

Having the entire SEC and its supporters attack Michigan and Harbaugh has unified the University, alumni, and fans. We were a fractured fan base during the Rich Rod and Hoke years, but we're together now. What the fuck is Finebaum doing diagnosing Harbaugh's problems when the an Ole Miss booster just admitted to cheating, Tennessee is fighting Baylor for the title of "Rape capital of the US", and A&M has such a locker room problem that two quarterbacks leave the team before their bowl game. Finebaum might want to sort his own conference's shit out before trying to say what Harbaugh's problems are. Also, why does Finebaum think Jim Harbaugh has a problem? The only problem is the SEC getting in our way because they're scared of working to keep recruits. Yeah, the team fucked up against MSU on the punt, shit happens. Alabama fucked up on the kick six. We're not running into walls, the SEC is throwing themselves in front of us to block our path. We demolished Florida and their supposed "Elite SEC Defense". Who's next? Tennessee? Alabama? People keep telling us that Jim Harbaugh wears out his welcome and how they're already sick of him. I love him even more. He's unequivocally going to fight for Michigan. Sorry, SEC, were not going to roll over and apologize anymore.

Harbaugh's hiring united the Michigan fan base - the university, alumni, and fans.  This SEC attack has fused that base together tighter than its ever been.  The entire fan base now agrees that backing down, or apologizing, or taking the easy way when its not the right way, is the wrong way to do business.  The amount of love and devotion to Harbaugh right now eclipses anything I've seen from Bo through Hoke.  I don't think there is any way in this world for Harbaugh to wear out his welcome here...

I have 0 doubt that Paul Finebaum has had a discussion with his producers, etc. on how to generate ratings and clicks via excessively ridiculous coverage of Jim Harbaugh.

Others in the so called media are doing the same thing.

They are Japanese made Washburn HB35s from the early 80s.  These were made at the Yamaki plant and are absolutely incredible guitars, as good as Gibson.  The wood is stellar and craftsmanship and finish are hand made.  I have 2 sunbursts from 1982 which were made on the same day (!) and the cream one is from 1983 and has a rare factory vibrato arm and bridge.  These are all string-through which is very unusual for a 335 type guitar.  They sustain for ever.

What a dick - wasn't it just a few weeks ago that he said Harbaugh was the "Donald Trump" of college football and that the SEC coaches should stop whining about what he does?

Fuck you Finebaum. He had a normal as a childhood as any middle class kid. Asst coaches made a very modest living when Jack was coaching for the love of the game. His father just happened to work hard enough to earn an opportunity to work for Bo so he was able to provide his kids with some perks (like being a ball boy). Kiffin was born on third and acts like he hit a triple. He is a classless piece of shit with no moral compass and his daddy's name kept helping him land on his feet. That charade is over now as he has been revealed as a bad coach and an even worse human being. Those same credentials are what the sec welcomed him and has no issues with coaches like Kiffin. As a matter of fact, there are a handful of head coaches in the sec that still fit the Kiffin profile. Their conference is full of criminals fro the top to the bottom. Fuck Finebaum, fuck all of the SEC (teams and fans) and fuck the NCAA. Harbaugh and M will prevail on the field and in the court of public opinion when this is all said and done. Proud to have JH leading our program.

Anyone ever hear of Paul Finebaum before Jim Harbaugh? Not really. I've seen the skinny dude with big ears in tv but all I ever heard was mwah mwah mwah mwah coming out of his mouth like the character on Charlie Brown. He should thank JH for getting him clicks and giving him a little extra tv time

Paul Finebaum's disparagement of JH's coaching aptitude would be like Roger Goodell calling out a Nobel laureate in physics for misapplying the ideal gas law.

Wait, this Finebaum is the ESPN guy from a few days ago that's defending the SEC? Who cares what he thinks. He's just looking for clickbait and views.

Nobody knew who he was 5 days ago and aside from Michigan fans, nobody currently knows who he is.

The SEC/ACC and their southern apologist are too dumb to realise that this kind of talk only exposes them. They are afraid, they feel threatened and they can't stop talking about it. All those wins, championships and ESPN and yet they act like the beverly Hillbillies.

I heard Paul Finebaum took his cousin to the prom!

(Which wasn't a big deal since half the class of '45 took their cousin to prom...........1845 that is, Hi-O)

I can literally throw Pam Finebut farther than he/she can throw a football......literally!

I heard Paul Finebaum's grandfather really liked bling.
