likemost here i am highly skeptical about us in the playoff, but then again, stranger things have happened.

i also think that it is very, very strange that JH hasn't been fined yet nor has there been any announcements from the B10 office about the press conference or JH's comments after the game.  every time i have heard of a coach going off on the officials there is about a 24 hr delay and that coach is fined $X-thousands of dollars.  makes me think there is some real, behind-the-scenes machinations going on right now.   the B10 can't let those remarks stand.   maybe today they announce the fine?  maybe they suspend JH for the bowl game?

its just that i've never seen it done and not then seen a fine come out of it.  I'm also curious about the amount of information gathering going on, and alluded to by umbig11.  i wonder if the refs get fired (again!) or suspended too?

basketball.  The very last.  I saw the fix was in, and it has never been worth wasting my emotions since.

I hope we can convince the BIG10 that this is what's at stake:  If they can't field competent, honest refs, then people will stop paying for the Big Ten Network.

I think it matters - and maybe matters more to those who never complain about refs. The refs have a tough job, one side is always going to blame them in the close games - but that is usually by a small percentage of a fan base. When you have a game this big, you hope it doesn't come down to being decided by a tough call - but it was and I think having a non-partisan perspective is always helpful.

It's obviously not just a bunch of folks in Ann Arbor, or anti-OSU people that are voicing their opinions about how differently they thought the game should've ended. It doesn't change what happened, but I think it makes it a lot easier for the Playoff Committee to give Michigan another shot if a bunch of weird things happen like Clemson, WSU or PSU losing.

To me, it is not the spot as that was pretty close either way. It is OSU only getting 2 penalties for 6 yards. When Michigan was much more heavily penalized. There were at least a couple of times where Michigan draw a flag and within a matter of a couple of plays, OSU did almost exactly the same thing with no flag.

I need to get over this and these posts don't help! By the way, currently in Amsterdam and I've seen 4 people in 5 minutes with Michigan gear on. Love the pride.

Not even kidding. The injustice and burn from this is unlike anything I've felt maybe ever. Those men from Ann Arbor won this football game and they deserved the praise and media attention that goes along with that. All they will get is film room pride and it's disgusting that this continues to happen to programs like Michigan. Michigan won this football game. Anyone who watched it knows that in their heart.

Over a Big Ten Champion in Wisconsin or Penn State ?? Yes we beat both head to head but would the committee choose the conference champion over us

I think they'd have cause to take Wisconsin. The H2H was close and at home and long ago, plus they had a similar agonizing loss to Ohio. Then consider they'd have the extra win Pedo St though, no, the committee would have no justification. They'd probably just the same though to bail out the BIG and not undermine the whole ideal of a conference 'champion' (taking 2 non champion teams)

The PI disparity bothers me the most - more than even the spot (which honestly was extremely close).  How do you flag Delano Hill and then not flag their CB on a virtually identical play and a more catchable ball?

Bobby Sagers better never step foot in this state again.   As a high school official myself, I automatically decline assignments to my alma mater (even though I graduated over 20 years ago) and my children's school.  I don't even want a chance of putting myself in a position of bias let alone someone calling me out on it.  Not sure how the Big ten let this happen.

Makes me feel like less of a homer.  On the issue of the FINE, seems to me the B10 needs to tread very carefully.  If they did even a reasonable job grading this crew, the B10 officiating group realizes that they laid an egg.  You can flip a coin heads thiry times in a row, but it ain't likely.  They come out and stomp on JH and they are going to have all of college football looking for the rest of the week at a three minute, juxtaposed "highlight" reel of exaactly what he was talking about.
