OT - Your All-Time Favorite Movie is.....?
Mates,
I haven't been to a movie in years and can't tell you the last one I did see in a theatre. However, oldest son asked me to take him to see 'Captain America - Civil War' as a birthday gift since his birthday was last week and we just got back. He enjoyed it so I'm glad, but I must admit that I'm too old to really enjoy those types of films much, but also that they did have a few good one-liners mixed in toward the end of the flick.
I am adding a link here to the highest box office grossing films, which was a discussion we had on the way home. I was surprised to see how many titles that I had neither seen nor heard of : http://www.the-numbers.com/movie/records/All-Time-Worldwide-Box-Office
So, with a nod to the Monday thread about favorite war movies, what are the Mgobloggers all-time favorite movies?
EDIT: Should've done it by decade. Just looking at the 80's you have a boatload of classics: Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Caddyshack, Field of Dreams, and on...
Have a great weekend, Looks like Lake Michigan is warm enough to swim in, so might try that tomorrow with the sons.
XM
Scarface, Goodfellas and Boondock Saints.
In second place, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Clicked in ready to ask how one could start/participate in this thread while the Tigers, USMNT, and Hutch's team are all in action, and then skimmed and realized I wanted to share.
Diner.
went to two day entomology course in order to prepare for our honeymoon which was a substantial part of fly-fishing, also something we did while courting.

+1 for Murder by Death. Hilarious, and I like the fact that so many kids don't realize that back in the day, Professor McGonagall/The Dowager Countess was hot!
"Where's my Dickie?"
(pause)
"Sorry. Where's my husband?"
the wolverines band together to fight off the Reds. Come on people!
ok, so it's not too great.
I think a different question worth answering is: which movie would you be willing to watch many times? For me, it's The Fugitive.

Brian is going to be so pissed when he finds out you like "Happy Gilmore."
Orange County.
Such an underrated movie!
The Usual Suspects is my all time favorite. Snatch is right up there as well.
Good question, now I guess I'll have to watch it again and see if I can pick up any thing new. I enjoyed the commentary on this film almost as much as the film itself because the depth and detail it goes into. That and the lineup scene is one of the best ad-lib scenes ever IMO.
The Player, Being There, and The Thin Red Line.

I have a hard time picking a lone favorite movie, but this one is always in my top group.

And I'm not sure why. It's such a slow paced masterpiece that it avoids description, as far as I'm concerned.
you can almost feel that 90 degree southern summer heat, so one has to move slow.
