OT: Xavier wins in the Crosstown shootout!

Submitted by AKMuskie on

In highly irrelevant news to most Michigan fans, Xavier has just downed the basketball and football powerhouse the University of Cincinnati in the annual Crosstown Shootout in a double OT classic! I don't know if any of you were able to catch the game, but as a Xavier student, I am uber-excited! Go Muskies (and Wolverines as well).

Went to middle school with Jordan Crawford, little brother of Joe Crawford. Very talented family, at that age you knew Jordan was a stud.

Still amazing to look back at the season the 2004 Renaissance High School basketball team had. 27-0, State Champs, and two of the top 10 players in the country (Rivals had Hairston and Crawford as the #1 and #2 SG in the country). I missed that team by a year.

I remember that Xavier used to give Cincinnati great games back during the Huggins days. I don't think it was called the "Crosstown Shootout" then. But anyways they regularly pulled off the upset of the more heavily favored Bearcats.

Maybe some of us should have seen those things as a sign of things to come in March with those Cincy teams.
