I thought he did a pretty ok job. Won 10 games one season, nearly won the big east last year. It's Pitt, not Florida. Will be surprised to see them do better.

on here complaining about how Dave Brandon is handling Rod's situation (I think he's doing jusf fine btw) for a really bad idea about how to handle a coaching situation:  See Pitt.  Really, you force a guy to resign who tied for the championship?  If you want to fire him, fire him.  Credit to Wanny for taking it like a man for his school.  Their A.D. is nuts.  Certifiable.  We are talking Pitt here.

Second, I would think that Pitt's A.D. must have someone or someones in mind to fire a reasonably successful coach.  Would you fire Wanny to hire Brady Hoke?  Randy Shannon?  Calvin McGee?  Probably not.  Jon Gruden or Mike Leach, maybe.  Rich Rodriguez, hell yes.  Jimmy Harbaugh ain't leavin' Stanford for Pitt, so that's a nonstarter.

If you're Miami and Pitt and Rodriguez gets available, he's clearly very desireable.  Sorry in advance for mentioning our CC situation, but is tangentially related since I think we ought to keep Rodriguez and hire Shannon as a DC.  Fortunately for Michigan, I can't see  Pitt interested in Shannon, so there's that.
