OT: Walking Dead Season 2 trailer. Discuss.

Submitted by Crime Reporter on

AMC has released the first trailer for season 2 of everyone's favorite zombie apocalypse show and it is epic.

Those of us who enjoyed the first season never really had a chance to discuss it afterward, given everything that took place in the offseason.

Creators say the story will pick up immediately where it left off. Enjoy the trailer.

and Game of Thrones are the best things on TV in my opinion.

Used to like Hung too...but it got slow and dumb.

Boardwalk Empire is good too if you can follow it.

The show isn't about zombies, it's about the people dealing with the zombies.  I haven't read the comics, but I get the impression that they are more about how people interact with eachother when society breaks down.  I think that's the direction the show is trying to take as well.  But there will still be zombies.

When people see the title of the series they naturally assume that "the walking dead" refers to the zombies, but when you read the comic in all its bloodiness you basically learn its refering to the humans that are still left.  One of the cover pictures for the series shows a group shot of the 'good guys' as humans and then as zombies...it's an interesting juxtaposition.  I really enjoyed this TV adaptation, especially the gritty/real feel it had...

My favorite new show on television and probably Top 5 on right now (Dexter, Mad Men are also included in that).

Trailer sent shivers up my spine. Can't wait.

Sweet!! I hope that trailer is just from the 1st episode. That looked INTENSE. Not enough zombie attacks last year. They need to spread the field and quit the 3 yards and a cloud of stench.

Between Walking Dead, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and oh yeah FOOTBALL life is good.  As for WD I was wondering if the father and son would make their way into the second season. Thank goodness they got the go ahead for thirteen episodes so it will last longer.

Still have plans for the boat underway or taking over a large vessel in port and throwing over the brow if the Z’s fuck up my football season.  It would be a damn shame if the wife could make the trip and I get stuck with this:

It's good to hear from you again. We will have a lot to discuss with the new season.

If you look toward the end of the trailer (the part where Rick loses it and starts shooting) you can see the body of the guy who did not join the group and go to the CDC.

At least I think it's him. Guess he shouldn't have taken the family to Alabama.

That being said, I'm going to need one of each of those as well.

Most comments seem right on about the need for character development and people issues as the world has crumbles around them, but dammit, I love the zombie killings.  Zombieland type zombie killings, with the gratuitous "zombie kill of the week" and so on.  Sure the intellectual thriller part really makes the program, but a little more mindless undead killing would be nice.  This, of course, is really a nit-pick and not an issue since the show is so damn good.

Thanks for the post.  I cannot wait!  I was immediately hooked last season and during the off season I went back and watched probably every zombie movie that was ever made. TWD stands among the very best of the genre (original Dawn of the Dead is the best).  Plus I was Steven Yeun's (Glenn) professor his freshman year in college so there is added personal satisfaction in the show's success.
