OT: Today is a Monster Day for the Tigers

Submitted by ggoodness56 on
I actually woke up before my alarm clock, pumped about this double header today. If they sweep today, there magic number drops from 6 to 2...IOW by the end of the day, they could be walking through the door into the playoffs. I want to skip work! Damnit! COME ON ROOKIE!! We all believe in you kid!

I agree with you. Hopefully the weather holds up, Pocello/Verlander bring their "A" games and maybe rubbin' elbows with the 84' Tigers last night will give them some inspiration to close the door on the division this week!

When the Tigers clinched a trip to the World Serious, I took a sheet and spray painted "Go Detroit Tigers" on it and hung it from my front porch. I lived on Maple Street in Omaha--a busy four-lane street with heavy traffic. One day, there's a knock on my door. Some dude is standing on the porch. He says: "Hey, who's the Tigers fan around here?" I says: "Me. I'm from Michigan and they haven't been there since I was five" He says: "I'm from Michigan too!" So we fell in love and got married the end. JUST KIDDING haha (marriage between two guys is illegal in this state) Anyway, he had some buddies who had become Detroit Tiger fans (and Sparty fans) because of him (MSU grad) and we all watched the World Serious together and became great friends. We partied for a couple years, smoked a lot of pot, drank a lot, and then the son of a bitch moved back to Michigan and left me all alone again. Naturally.

I am so jacked for these games today. But with Porcello and Verlander going today, they have to take both of these. I do not like the bonine/pavano matchup in game 3 since the tigers happen to always get killed by carl freakin pavano, and i dont like the baker/robertson matchup in game 4 since i never know which nate robertson will show. This is huge though, If we can take both these early games, then all the pressure goes on Minnesota.

I agree with you 100%. If Verlander and Porcello can't do it we're in a little bit of trouble. Pavano has dominated us (then again which mediocre pitcher hasn't it) and who knows what to expect from Bonine and Nate? Exciting couple of days for sure, we've been great at home this year. GO TIGERS!!!
