OT -- Tigers-Twins 07/10

Submitted by king_kerridge on

Miggy just hit a 2 run bomb (that I saw fly out on gamecast) to put the Tigers up 2-0 after 1.

Is this game on fox nationally? I am stuck in Indianapolis so I don't have access to FSN Detroit

EDIT--also too lazy to go downstairs turn the TV on and check for myself, help me out

I always love after the Catcher has his little meeting with the pitcher and then the batter blasts a homer, makes both look like idiots.

EDIT: Sorry late on the network

No, Rod's behaved himself. If he'd have turned loose a "OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!" or "I SEE YOU, BIG FELLA", I might have peed myself. He's gotta go nuts at least once on national TV, right?

... he seems to be talking more, but keeping the FSD-speak in check.

He was really on the mark in the intro, and Dick Stockton's wicked comb-over was resplendent.  And I believe Dicky Boy is saying "Brendan" Boesch.

And he just welcomed everyone back to Comerica "Field."

Hell, he can probably see Ford Park from the press box.

DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland made a strong denial to a FoxSports.com report that pitcher Rick Porcello could be a “potential trade chip” and quoted a source saying Detroit pushed back his start for the Toledo Mud Hens to Saturday for the likely purpose of allowing more scouts to gather for his outing.

“I want to make this perfectly clear: It is a blatant lie and irresponsible journalism,” Leyland said after Friday night’s game. “That is a total (blanking) lie. It is bull (blank) and it is horse (blank), and people need to be held accountable.

"There is not a (blanking) chance Rick Porcello is going to be traded. In fact, he’s pitching in Cleveland .”

Porcello is likely to be recalled between games of the July 17 day-night doubleheader with the Indians at Progressive Field.

Rod Allen drew his famous "imaginary line" through Johnny Damon to illustrate his home-run power.  He said it earlier, but didn't draw it, when Miggy's blast cleared the Twins bullpen.

As a Red Sox fan, I don't get to see much of the Tigers. However, its pretty easy to see from the statistics that Cabrera is having an incredible, and possibly historic year. I'm curious as an outsider what Cabrera's reputation is among the fan base. A few of my friends at UM are Tigers fans, but they don't seem to be overly high on him.

Amongst Tigers fans he is thought of as our best player and easily one of the best young players in the league. Though alot of Tigers fans are pissed at him because of some off the field problems he had last season. I'm not one of those fans and I am delighted to have him on our team.

Miguel Cabrera is a certified gangsta. Can we admit that despite some bad trades (Renteria) that the one for Cabrera was a mighty fine one. I'd do it 10 out of 10 times over.

Cabrera is my fav Tiger since Pudge. Maggs gets a lot of man luv from me too.
