OT: Tigers acquire Cameron Maybin
I guess I'll be the breaker of Tiger news.
The Tigers acquired Cameron Maybin for Ian Krol and Gabe Speier.
For those wondering, yes this is one of the guys they sent to Miami in exchange for Miguel Cabrera.

He was actually pretty solid last year. Career numbers a bit depressed from playing out here in PetCo so long. He's a solid player, and younger than people realize - not a team maker by any means, but a solid poster piece. Don't know much about the guys they gave up, so not sure if it was a good deal or not, but don't mind the Tigers adding him objectively.

I like it. I was a little leery of Al Av but he's made some good moves so far. They should still have enough money to add a couple starters and another bullpen arm

Overall, this is fine. But it cannot be the answer in LF.
He's 28, soon to be 29. At this point he is what he is with his career. We still need an everyday LF.

I think this move signals the opposite of that. Instead of signing an everyday LF, we're going to platoon Maybin and probably Tyler Collins. To be honest, I'd rather do that and spend more on pitching.

Is a step up from what they've had in CF since Jackson got traded. Krol being gone is great.
