OT: So I was at an event with Urban last night

Submitted by IUandUofM on

There was a charity event last night in Columbus that during a pre-party, Urban Meyer showed up.  We were unknowingly 15 feet from him for 20 minutes, until he was recognized by a speaker.  There was no entourage, nor were people flocking to him after the announcement.  He just was like everyone else.

Given the event purpose, I resisted making any Michigan comments to him directly (which my wife strongly insisted I refrain from), but I did give him a good ol' fashioned "Go Blue" glare as we past him on our way out.

Urban is a pretty busy guy, so if he was willing to spend part of his Saturday at a charity event,  he deserves some credit. Or at leasy he deserves to not catch too much shit.

That said, a little good-natured "Go Blue" wouldn't have been out of line.

Not sure why sharing this is frowned upon.  Nicely done, not sure what I would have done in the same situation.  Like a few others have mentioned, maybe I would have tried to sneak in a quick convo with the guy, but that's easier said sitting here than in the heat of the moment.  Go Blue works my man.
