OT: Scouting the enemy. OSU Spring game on BTN now

Submitted by Volverine on

Title pretty much says it all. It looks like it will be a real spring game, too. Urban Meyer has apparently said that the losing team must walk home.

Let's see what that Oregon-like offense looks like.

Your handle alone is flamebait.  OSU caught Mattison off guard by going verticle against us, unlike they had done all year.  Our secondary is much improved as is our linebacking, so my hope is to contain Miller better this year.

They don't look bad. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in Indy. The leaders division sucks. Some are predicting Purdue to have a chance to win their division.

Watching the ND game....it drives me crazy that their Adidas uniforms actually fit properly.  Ours have always looked sloppy and loose IMO.  You would think the jersey would be the same or nearly the same cut, etc.

Wow their defense looks horrible.  They get pressure, but it looks like the o-line just sucks.  Along with that, they leave wide receivers wide open all the time

You can extrapolate nothing team-wise out of a spring game where 1's and 2's are mixed, the QB can't run and they are (probably) running watered down schemes on both sides. The only things you can really get out of it would take a close film breakdown of assignments when you know what they should be doing in the first place.

Miller is probably an All Big-10 type player at some point in his career. Maybe not this year, but next year he might be the best QB in the conference. That said, Guiton is terrible. OSU can make some noise this season, but not if Miller misses any time.

Is TP driving in the 500? I know he has a rep for lovin' on some fast cars, maybe they can have an alumni reunion and compare tats and NFL prospects over a jug of milk.

Just saw a graphic during Urban Liar's halftime interview: 2012 #3 ranked recruiting class.  What's up with that?  The highest rank I've seen for them is 7-8.

Why is that considered trolling? It was a legitimate question.

EDIT: More specifically, has anyone seen them ranked that high and by what service/media outlet?

I can't believe that I forgot about the Ohio post season ban. I should work for the bleacher report. Wisconsin should win the leaders. The legends division will be a three way race. It's unfortunate, but sparty looks like a real threat again. Some say they are the best in the B10 from top to bottom. That was a scouting report from the B10 network. They watched every team practice at least once during the spring. If Michigan can stop the run like last year then they should win the B10. The back 7 of the D is good, and the offense should be improved. It would be nice if the D could get pressure on the QB this year. The pass rush was non existent last season.

OSU's OLine definitely looks vulnerable in pass protection. Hopefully we can use our smaller, quicker DLine to exploit that.

Miller is sporadic, making great throws interspersed with awful ones. He should be fine, but if he gets hurt though, they might be in trouble with Guiton.

Overall, I don't think it would be crazy to predict 8-10 wins for them this year.
