OT: Saturday night drinking open thread

Submitted by IncrediblySTIFF on December 8th, 2012 at 8:35 PM

I have never started this thread before, but I have started drinking.  I am honored to have an opportunity to load it up tonight.

For me, a (somewhat embarassing) change from the usual, as Jack Daniel's has been put on the back burner for the cheaper, yet suprisingly decent Evan Williams Black Lable.  I am not so ignorant as to think that Evan Williams is better than Jack, but today, for half the price, I can dig it.

First off I'm drinking 312 out of a can to see if it tasted a lot different. It does but not to bad.
Second, I work at a restaurant as a server in downtown Lexington, Ky, and I had a 22 top of all Michigan fans. Presents: Michigan apparel
Hats: block M's
Cake: maize and blue
Only Michigan server at deShas. Happy accident.
(Cool story bro)

Well silver lining is that both the cubs and tigers (ie my fav teams) could trade from either capuano or harang and improve their sp depth. Both are really cheap and solid options for 4/5 spots. Actually cappy was pretty outstanding last year.

One more Michael Collins and I will make sense!

Bell's version, followed by Great Lakes. Hmm. I know that Bell's is a good MICHIGAN beer...and GL is from...cleveland...but I gotta say, I think that GL wins this contest. It's just, I dunno...spicier? But both of these X-Mas Ales are very nice.

In actuality, GL has quite a nice catalog of beers -- and I enjoy most of them. I always drink a few Edmunds around November 10 of each year.

Started with Sierra Nevada, then moving on to my Shangri La, which contains 6 Two Hearted Ale.

Just watched some of Colbert Report's Hobbit week and will have commenced viewing the Fellowship of the Ring.

The girlfriend goes "ooooh!  wow! big explosion!" for about 20 minutes and then promptly fell asleep.
