Yeah, tennis. Crazy right? Anyone watching this? It's coming down to the wire and is going to be a great finish.

Roddick needs to work on his return of serve, he's been struggling all tournament. On his side, his serve has been amazing and Federer hasn't been able to read it's placement a bit.

Mental Toughness Definition: Mental toughness is having the natural or developed psychological edge that enables you to: - Generally cope better than your opponents with the many demands (e.g., competition, training, lifestyle) that are placed on you as a performer - Specifically, to be more consistent and better than your opponents in remaining determined, focused, confident, resilient, and in control under pressure (Jones et al, 2002) Andy has never really been that guy I would guess he blows this in a matter of seconds...Go Andy...but your probably toast.

Not my preferred style of tennis- I prefer the long rallies that Nadal and Federer put on last year. But still, what a match!

I was thinking something along the same lines late in the 5th set. This match was epically long, but it was not epic. It lacked the dramatic long rallies and amazing plays out of nowhere. Most points were aces or short volleys with well placed shots. My thought is that neither competitor was "tired enough" due to the quick pace. If either had tired enough to slow their legs a bit, we might have seen them forcing great plays. Instead, we ended up with just one fully solid tennis match. Again, not epic but well played.

Ridiculous. 13-12 Federer. Andy has really played excellent this tournament and it's great seeing him get this chance one more time, and he's going up against and playing toe-to-toe with the best. Don't know how he hasn't shown mental toughness. Second game in a row Federer gets to duece, but Andy comes right back. 13-13.

Damn, what an effort by Andy. Everyone probably expected Federer to roll through the final, and Andy made him earn every single bit of it.

As if we needed any more proof that Federer is the greatest ever. Pushed to the absolute limit in what turns out to be his record setting 15th grand slam win, he perseveres when many others couldn't/wouldn't have. These matches don't come along too often, with Federer usually dominating opponents, however when they do, he always seems to be the man holding up the trophy (except on clay against Nadal).

The NetJet commercial was much better than the NIKE commercial. We needed more Bridget, dammit. And Andy got a bit whiny when RF said he, too could come back from losing in the Finals.

federer was the one being the dick, i loved andys responses. also, how much of a dueschenozzle is federer with the his the moniker of his initials everywhere? and the 15 on the back? cmon disclaimer: i do hate federer already and love roddick, which might influence my feelings a little.

question is IMHO Sampras still had much better talent around him he had to beat at the time for his titles. Federer on the other hand hasn't really had anybody to challenge him the last 3 yrs with any consistensy except Nadal in about the last yr.

I'm not the best to answer this since I was pretty young when Pete was starting his domination, but the fact that Federer has dominated the competition except for Nadal recently gives him the edge in my opinion. Also that it looks like he'll add at least a few more titles to his pile by the time he's done.
