OT: Rangers vs. Bluejays wackiness

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa on

Go watch this baseball game on FS1 - the Rangers scored a go-ahead run in the top of the seventh after the Bluejays catcher hit the batter's bat with his throw back to the pitcher.  The guy on third scored, and all hell has broken loose.

To make up for it, the Rangers have had three straight errors to load the bases in the B7, but a guy just got thrown out at home, which is now under review.

This is the single craziest inning in baseball history. Scored run off a throw back to the pitcher off a bat, shit thrown on field, review, more shit thrown on field, error, error, error, bloop single on badly misplayed ball, 3-run bomb, the best bat flip I've ever seen, benches clear, more shit thrown on field. Insane!

Yes. Forget the actual rule (which was applied correctly)... how do you overrule a dead ball signal? At that point the play is dead and no player on the field would have any reason to respond to what's happening. They wouldn't have got him at home anyhow... but, really... how can you possibly allow the run after you indicated to everyone in the field that there was no further play?

this is 0% surprising to anyone who has ever sat in the 500's at the Dome when it's full.

That was also 22 years of bult of sports frustration released with a singular fuck you.

I'm not defending it I'm just saying if you didn't see this coming you don't really know Toronto. Mayor McCrackhead was sitting behind home plate, everything is possible

I can't stand the Rangers and have been rooting against them all along. But the ridiculous Toronto fans and Bautista's over-the-top bat flip while he stood and admired his home run (admittedly an impressive shot in a clutch spot) makes me kinda hope Texas comes back and wins.
