I'd say, "More Mr. Ed than Howdy Doody."

More Mr. Ed

Be nice to Three Testical Pam. Sure she may have worse play calling skills than a cadaver, but she has uh......wait.....she has.....crap, I can't think of anything.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:55 PM ^
Three letters in her first name, and four in her last name. There. Settled for you.

She looks kinda like Freddy Krueger to me.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:56 PM ^
They show her before the game and my uncle goes "Jesus she's uglier than shark shit!" And I lost count of how many times they had to mention that it was a sellout today

What I particularly don't like about his play calling is that it seems like he assumes his audience is a bunch of NFL fans watching college football for the first time ever. Yeah, Brent, I know the NFL changed the position of the umpire. Yeah, Brent, I know the college overtime rules. Yeah Brent, I know you only need one foot in bounds for a catch. I WATCH COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! (Sorry for yelling, Brent is just awful.)
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:38 PM ^
Is how he always hypes up the game hes on. Like 8 times a minute hes like "we have a dandy on our hands here", or "don't go anywhere folks, this is a good one". It like, shut the hell up Brent, I'm already watching and I know its a good game. I don't need you to tell me that.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:11 AM ^
Even better was how he subtly suggested to his viewers that the "other" game (Florida/Alabama) was lousy and not worth watching.
October 3rd, 2010 at 1:08 AM ^
I also hate how he hyped up Marecic, Stanford's FB/LB. I know Brent, I read Sports Illustrated too. Marecic is a really cool story, but if SI hadn't published an article on him, I doubt Musberger would know who he is.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:52 AM ^
For some reason, it really irritates me that Musburger calls Kirk Herbstreit "Herbie" ALL. THE. TIME. I know it's a nickname, but I imagine Kirk cringing every single time he hears it.

I am engorged.

No more ESPNU, no more Death Ward the rest of the season. One game is too much; more than one game would be unfair.
October 3rd, 2010 at 8:04 AM ^
Ward of the Grate, referring to my nerves, wasn't she on ESPN2 or something? What, did she get demoted, but they didn't have the heart to just let her go entirely? Let me do the play calling, I can be just as deadpan and uninspiring, please, please!!
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
I was so busy yelling at my TV, I didn't hear a fucking thing else, including announcing.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
My roommate is not a big football fan. When they cut to the press box and showed her talking, he responded "Oh my gosh, that's a female???"
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:01 PM ^
I genuinely applaud him for using "female." What a proper lad.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
As an option... That would be great success!
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:03 PM ^
Psh, next thing you're going to tell me is that my analog tv with antenna still could work somehow. Jerk.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
If you have a denon receiver you can. just pull your b speakers to the room you are watching in and turn off the a speakers, viola no announcers just crowd noise and hits! I found this out by accident and I am pretty sure you dont need a denon just any tuner.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
Did Pam ward let up 570 yards of offense? Honestly, who cares.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
the sound of her voice shook cam gordon to his core. he hasn't been the same since
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
How good life really is when Erin Andrews is on the sideline.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:20 PM ^
'Pat' Ward seems more apropos.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:21 PM ^
Yeah because nothing said 100% mantastic like the e cups on John Madden. The fact that their fat (big john), ugly as sin (lou holtz), or a talentless homer (Tom Hammond) hasn't stopped networks from putting male talent on the air, not sure why it should be different for females.
Only difference is there wont be 10 threads about how ugly looking tom hammond is or how old and stupid lou holtz is. Glad to see sexism is alive and well in Ann Arbor.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
Nothing was explicitly mentioned about Pam Ward being unattractive... It could just as easily be said that Tom Hammond looks like a cross between an alien and a pedophile.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:01 AM ^
I think you have to say this for Pam Ward: She might have finally realized that she can avoid sounding like ten thousand screeching vultures by not raising her voice and shouting into the mic. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I could actually tolerate her announcing today, most of the time....sometimes.
October 3rd, 2010 at 2:03 PM ^
Most of the time, I just cannot stand her. But today she wasn't bad. Not great, but she at least didn't ruin the game for me. I consider that progress.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:35 AM ^
When people who have never heard of Pam Ward ask me who she is, I tell them to think of Rosie O'Donnell or Suzyn Waldman, and then magnify their disgust by 10x.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:41 AM ^
My dad has no idea who Pam Ward is and he asked me seriously today if it was a man or a woman calling the game.
October 3rd, 2010 at 2:09 AM ^
and everyone knows it.
I didn't think it was possible to pair her with someone less appealing to listen to than Ray Bentley, but they found one in Danny Kennell. Totally killed the broadcast.
October 3rd, 2010 at 8:18 AM ^
I had no problem with Pam Ward before yesterday, but someone pointed out she called Hemingway "Ernest"
That's inexcusable
Do your homework
October 3rd, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
You've heard of having a face for radio, right?
Well, what about having a voice for braille?
October 3rd, 2010 at 6:47 PM ^
TITTIES!!!!!!!
??
OH YEAH. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT GUYS (AND GIRLS. *WINK WINK* MGoJen. SHOW THEM!!!)
October 3rd, 2010 at 8:44 PM ^
Does anyone have or know where I can get the radio version of the game audio? I'd like to splice that over the ESPNU audio from the game. Right now I'm watching the recording with the audio off.
