OT-Pacquiao v. Cotto

Submitted by ijohnb on
Somebody please talk me out of spending $50.00 that I don't have on this fight. The urge is a solid 9 out of 10. For all the fights that are touted as "fights of the century" and in end up being garbage, this under the radar matchup may actually be that good. If you didn't watch the Cotto v. Margarito fight, know that Cotto is truly a bad man (despite the loss on that occassion) and Pacquiao is coming up in weight class to fight him. There will be some action in this fight. If there is a TKO, it will be Cotto with his hands raised in the end. If it goes to the cards, it's Pac Man by a length. Alright, I just officially talked myself into this outrageous expense.

I think Cotto is pretty good but I think Paquiao will prevail ion the end. I think he has no shot of knocking him out like he did Hatton because of Cottos' size but he is a very disciplined fighter and very technical and I think he wins by a unanimous decision. I think I am gonna get it too now. You talked me into talking myself into it. DAMN YOU!

Aside from a plaster filled loss at the hands of Margarito, Cotto is still a bad man... Pacquiao is too small. Similar to the Mayweather/Marquez fight, this one will be a laugher. Cotto will jab the little man into oblivion... Cotto in 8.

The only sport that could rival my obsession with college football is Boxing ... invite some friends, tell them to throw $5 and order ... These are 2 of my top 5 favorite current fighters. I disagree that a decision would go to Pac..and Cotto IS that good.. IMO there are weight classes for a reason..and Pac pushed to high .. Cotto weighed in at 145 but you can bet your last dollar when he walks to the ring he will be at least 158 ... Pac will know this is not Hatton, old Oscar,or little Marquez after he takes a Cotto body shot ... I just dont see Pac winning despite very well being the best pound 4 pound ... Cotto lays on him and hits to the body before the break and breaks Pac down ...for a Unanimous decision ..just my opinion

As dominant as Pacqiuao has been, I believe many are writing this once off too quickly. Magarito careed on Cotto, and Cotto would still likely have won that fight if he could have absorbed one more flurry and got it to the cards, he just got sloppy. Cotto is quick enough to land on Pacqiuao, and will land more frequently than expected on Pacqiuao, I just don't think he will be capable of keeping him in one place for long enough to be as effective as I have seen him. Pac by split decision. Should be a really good one.

Sorry dude, but I can't talk you out of this one. Pacquiao is the best p-for-p fighter since Bernard Hopkins moved up a weight class and beat the shit out of Tarver for no reason, and Cotto is my favorite boxer by far since Diego Corrales died. I'm watching it and I'm not going to convince you not to.

Miguel Cotto has probably never lost a legitimate fight. I can't prove this, and nobody can, but the way plaster of paris in the gloves works, and the fact that Margarito was using it in his next fight, and the way it seemed like Margarito was hurting Cotto way too much for how the shots looked (I felt this way when I watched the fight and just assumed Cotto had a weak chin and Margarito was stronger than he looked) makes me believe that Margarito cheated in that fight. The only thing is, the dude absorbed such a huge beating he might not be the same fighter. But he's a bigger man than Pacquiao, and he should be undefeated. Pacquiao started fighting at 109 for God's sake. Eventually that's got to catch up to him. We have no idea what it looks like when he absorbs significant shots from a bigger man. I think we probably will in this fight. People are sleeping so much on Cotto on this fight it's ridiculous. If he makes it four rounds against Pacquiao, it's going to get ugly, and he's going to crush him. It's either going to be a flash knockout for Pacqiuao or he's going to lose.

I have COX cable in New Orleans and I'm stuck paying $55 for the fight in standard def. For that price couldn't they offer this thing in HD? I have the same problem with UFC PPVs. Must be nice to be a monopoly.

Don't know why so many people thought Cotto could win; he got some big help from the judges against Clottey. How much "bigger" Cotto is obviously wasn't a factor (same with De La Hoya). Speed = Power. There is a reason Mayweather is ducking Pacquiao, he is the best pound for pound and it's not even close.
