I thought the punishment was pretty appropriate:

1. Suspended for a game (same as Fitzgerald Touusaint)

2. Lost summer aid (must take a minimum of 6 credits = ~$6,600)

3. Mandatory alcoholicism prevention counseling

That is only the punishment from Urban and the school. Barrett had other legal and financial consquences as well.

Meyer would have made more of a statement and laid down the hammer. It's not that the punishment didn't fit the crime, it's that the supposed message could have been cemented further, regardless of the players importance to his team.

The players are still allowed to attend OSU without being punished for it. Urban Meyer actually requires it! I don't know about you, but attending OSU is definitely misconduct in my book.

Beyond the whole school policy dictates a two game suspension, but we'll figure out a one game suspension thing.

I don't really get that worked up about JT Barrett's thing as you very correctly cited Toussaint and Glasgow as being reasons to not throw stones, but that was a bit skeevy.

That's pretty stiff penalty. Are you sure it can't be shortened to the first half of the first quarter with the suspension only being served when he is tired and needs a break? HAVE A HEART DAMMIT
