On the call of the play - and this is controversial but true - that was a fumble, not an incomplete pass. There's not even an argument that can be given to say that it wasn't. The first hit (not the helmet impact) knocked the ball loose. Saying that, I can't argue with the ref's decision on the matter, because of the result of the play.
