OT: New Super Friendly Michigan Bar in Indiana

Submitted by itsbigcat on October 12th, 2017 at 1:15 PM

Hey ya'll. Friendly neighborhood MGOBREWER here. I see people all the time announcing big news (birth's, acceptance into UM, what not), and I just wanted to let everyone know that as of yesterday at 12:00pm, I have realized my life's dream, and bought a sports bar here in Evansville Indiana.

As far as my name goes, I'm leaving the brewing industry for now, so it's switched to my nick-name. MGOBREWER is dead, for the time being at least.

As far as the bar goes, it's 100% locally owned, located in Evansville, Indiana, and the owner (myself) might be the biggest M fan within the surrounding 100 miles.

Michigan athletics will always be on, full volume.

So if you're a Wolverine in the Southern Indiana area, come by Doc's (The bar's name) and see the Big Cat.

I absolutley promise not to post again about my place of business, and not to promote for financial purposes on here as a whole thread (if i see a comment saying, where can I watch a game in Evanvsille, I'll probably let them know)...

...I've just been saving, and dreaming, for a decade, and now it's happening, for you one of your own.

Cheers, everybody.

AND GO BLUE.

I live in New Albany, but will make sure to make it down to E-Ville soon to check out your place!  I'm assuming that all UofM games will be shown at said place of business?

GO BLUE!

Will you be running a shuttle bus to and from Bloomington for Saturday's game? If yes, I'm totally there Friday night into Saturday morning when the bus leaves!

Congratulations!  If this is your first run at owning/operating a small business, get some sleep now, because owning a bar/store is more time consuming than having small kids.  But it's almost as rewarding.  Nothing better than giving the man the finger and working for yourself.

Does the bar have a website?  If not, make one.  And link it here.

Congrats BrewCat!!  Here's hoping your dream provides you with much joy and minimal frustration.  Would love someday to not have to work for "the man".

I'm also in Evansville.  Looks like there are several of us in the area. It will be good to have a place for drinks nearby that isn't completely IU, Kentucky and/or ND.

We'll stop by to meet you and have a few!
