Also this was posted yesterday... This is getting ridiculous.
If something has happened and it was 3 days ago you need to go back 3 days it's not that difficult to understand.

Bet they paid some marketing company a ton to do that. Jokes on MSU.

From reading the Uni Watch post on the logo it looks like this logo leak is just the tip of the iceberg in a pretty big overhaul:
This logo is just a single element of a new comprehensive brand and graphic identity project undertaken by the Department of Athletics. They will be unveiling all elements of the new program in April. The new logo, and the other elements in the program, are the result of a two-year collaboration between MSU Athletics and a team of top designers from Nike.My guess based on zero evidence is that Nike convinced MSU to be the next Oregon. It should be really interesting to see how the Sparty fans react in April as the responses I've seen so far are overwhelmingly negative.

Most of my MSU friends think the logo looks dumb, but to be fair MSU is one of those schools that significantly changes its logo or uniforms every 5-10 years. IME, the Oregon look works because they were the first to go crazy with 57 home uniforms and freaking wings on shoulder pads, but MSU has neither the character nor color scheme to really make this work.

RE: Color schemes -- really good point.
If Nike does try something Oregon-style it goes without saying that they'd have to incorporate a lot of blacks/ grays/ off-color greens. I'm preemptively laughing out loud for the day I hear the "Go Green! Go White!" chant through my TV and Sparty is on the field in the all black Ninja Duck style uniforms.

I think they got all excited about "angry" Spartans and decided to go the more aggressive looking route.

Wow, that logo is horrible. It speaks to their lack of tradition.
