OT: Need Help Buying Tickets

Submitted by The Baughz on

My roommate and I really want to go to the ND Michigan football game in September. Neither of us ever ordered tickets online and dont know much about where to buy them at. Obviosuly, stub hub would be a choice but are there any better sites or does the Univeristy sell them to the public? Also, is it too early to even buy tickets? Just dont want to jump the gun on stub hub if there better/cheaper places to go. Any help would be much appreciated.

I checked into Stub Hub about a month ago and tickets were going for around $600. I am hoping this is just because the game is so far away and so few tickets are available. My brother is a ND fan and I was looking to bring him up to the Big House for his first time. Not too mention I get to see the first ever night game. Ebay will also auction some off from time to time.

The best move here is to wait.  Not enough people have tickets in hand to create a realistically priced marketplace.  I wouldn't even start looking until the summer.

Keep an eye out for emails from the athletic department over the summer.

Most of the tickets aren't available yet.. our student tickets definitely aren't, and after a lot of them become available, i'd look into any kind of internet market-type thing. I know a lot of people sell their tickets on facebook, stub hub, and all those places

Did tickets for the 2011 season even go on sale yet online? Theres nothing listed on the athletics website for any games aside from a season ticket waiting list.

Did I not get the memo?

those kind of tickets (single high profile game) won't go on sale at mgoblue.com. Obviously craigslist will work check AA and South Bend area as well as any major metropolitan Midwest areas you might be near enough. Also, thewolverine.com has a message board in which people sell their tickets but not for much profit but you have to be quick on the draw http://Michigan.rivals.com/forum.asp?fid=42.

Definitely wait.  However, I would try to buy tickets in advance for this one (as opposed to buying them from a scalper the day of the game, which is usually the cheapest option) because demand for this one will be high.

From the mgoblue.com FAQ...

When do single game tickets go on sale for football?
Football single game tickets normally go on sale in mid to late July preceding the season. At that time, orders can be placed online at www.mgoblue.com/tickets or by calling the ticket office at 734/764-0247 or (866) 296-6849 (toll free).

Thanks for the input. Looks like Im just going to wait for a while. I just wanted to get some ideas on where to look in advance. I definitely dont want to miss out on this game. First ever night game and Hoke's first test of his Michigan coaching career.

Get ready to open the wallet. I think this one will carry a pretty hefty price tag. I doubt they even go on sale to the public through mgoblue.com. Unless they do a package of tickets like the last few years.

Student tickets are the cheapest way to go, however you will need an ID or a validation ticket. Try facebook marketplace for them, if not craigslist.com in the Ann Arbor area obviously. There is one guy though on the Northwest corner entrance with long hair and he never checks for ID or a validation ticket. best of luck....GO BLUE!!!!!

Edit: I would wait closer to August to start looking and then buy sometime in the beginning of September. That is what I do. Facebook Marketplace is always loaded with tickets.
