Submitted by Boo-erns on
My friend just got a new dog and wants to give it a sweet mich sports name. My favorite so far is Desmond. Any ideas?

But my wife and I just had a boy (4 weeks old today), and I talked her into naming him Brady, and even told it was because of a certain QB/Dreamboat/Supermodel bangin person. She agreed, and is the coolest wife ever.

My wife and I named our dog Zoltan, but because she is female, she goes by Zoey. Still, she is officially listed as Zoltan on all important documents and even receives mail. It is actually pretty awesome. As a nice sidenote, one of her dog friends is a Ridgeback named Osi (after the Giants Dlineman), and they love to wrestle. In fact, this year the real Osi and Zoltan may meet on the field (the Giants play NE in the last preseason game), but I hope that Osi the player doesn't tackle Zoltan the way Osi the dog tackles Zoey.

Thanks to getting the idea from this board some time ago, named my husky/pit puppy (pictured) Maizey Blue. It was either gonna be a michigan name or a lebowski reference. I was thinking about "Maude" or "Knox Harrington, the video artist," but had to go with Maizey.

the day of the Heisman Trophy presentation. My older brother said, if Desmond Howard wins, we'll name our dog Desmond. We all agreed. I loved that dog.

I ended up with a female yellow lab mix, therefore, Maize Male dogs offer a lot more options in the "Red/Bo/Carr/Lloyd" mold That said, I'd love a dog named Lloyd so I could yell at it Ari Gold style

i named our dog woodson. we actually get lots of compliments on the name, and we live in ohio. there's the occasional d-bag OSU fan who will make a comment, but generally it's not too bad.

I adopted a golden lab from a shelter in VA and named him Bo. He was a great dog but was always frisky and never settled down, despite his age. He passed away a few years ago. No regrets about bringing him into our home or his name. Go Blue!

I would name mine Lil' Blue, except I already gave that name to the creepy little Michigan gnome that I watch all the games with for luck. Hell of a conversation starter at the local bar.

Bennie, Bump, Yost or go really obscure and name him "Tad" in respect to U of M's first coach to lead the team into the Big House.
