Matt Canada and LSU have agreed to parting ways per multiple sources.

BREAKING: #LSU and OC Matt Canada have reached a mutual settlement to separate. He will be paid $1.7M of the $3.3M his contract called for

"Tim, you're welcome to stay and coach the O-Line and develop our run blocking schemes, but we're going to go in a different direction with our strategy and play calling. If you'd rather pursue other opportunities, I completely understand and I'd be happy to provide a reference."

Then we lost out on Casteel because we were only offering a one year deal. A lot has changed since then. Assistants might still be on one year deals somewhere, but not at big time programs.

But not enough to beat Miss State, Troy, Alabama or Notre Dame. LSU pulled out a couple squeakers as well. Their best win came against Auburn, who quite frankly was not a great team. I don’t know how much LSU’s struggles can be pinned on Canada, and how much gets directed towards Coach O, but this hire (looking at Canada’s complete body of work even) would seem underwhelming to me. Not bad, just underwhelming.

He's a very good coordinator. But, don't get your hopes up. Rumor is he's a bridge burner, but more importantly loves having total control of the offense. He wants it to be his own with no outside influence, something that will not be true with Harbaugh. For that reason many believe he is best suited with a defensive minded head coach that gives him total control. That is why he worked so well with Narduzzi. It's very unlikely Harbaugh and him mesh.

I think Drevno should be the soul O-line coach and I think thats whats going to happen, I doubt he gets fired...... A s far as Canada goes, you get him if you can. Enos is going to be the WR he's not calling any plays

Well they let him go cuz the were frustrated with the offense. If it's him I hope it's a passing coordinator and they get someone who can run the ball. Bret beliema ran easy at Wisconsin..

... sure, you’re not wrong.. however, I agree that he’s not exactly lived up to the constant lofty praise he gets from the coaches. He seems to make the same mistakes a lot, and PFF metrics don’t think very highly of him at all. He’s got plenty of time to improve, but he isn’t exactly a beast as of yet.

Right...lots of time, cause he’s a true Junior coming off of an All-Big Ten 2nd team selection as a SO and freshmen AA honors as a true FR, seems like that lofty praise the coaches put on him is being lived up to at least in part...God forbid he doesn’t score well on PFF, because that’s the end all be all of success
