He can at least claim (whether it is true or not) that he wasn't sure he was taking the new job until after signing day was over. I am sure he knew he was leaving before last Wednesday, but he at least left himself enough time to claim he was formally offered and accepted the job after NSD.

Maybe underhanded, but a lot more room for doubt on this one. While he left, it is possible he didn't have an offer in hand on signing day. There's no way the OSU coach didn't know he was leaving.

The thing about the Weber sittuation isn't that the coach left, but rather that the coach was on the phone with him until midnight before signing day trying to reasure him that he was making the right choice coming to play for him at OSU whie he knew he was leaving for another job the next day.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a guy leaving his job.  There's absolutely something wrong with a guy leaving his job after telling or implying to a recruit that he's not going to leave it.  Whether that happened in the Weber situation, only time will tell.

Big difference between what the LSU guy did (leaving almost a week after, in fact he likely did not even interview until this weekend) and what Drayton did, staying on the phone all night reassuring a kid he would coach him and the leaving the millisecond the ink was dry on his LOI. Completely different ballparks.

As I've learned around here by a vocal subset, kids need to grow up and stop believing any adults and anything they say.  Except if that adult works at UM.

Thoughts on it? Was this a underhanded move by him?
That depends. Does LSU's incoming recruiting class have any wide receivers on it that were waffling on NSD between LSU a rival only to be pressured into signing their LOI? Any tweets of players feeling betrayed? Misled?
