OT: Lions trade Kitna
They traded him to the Cowboys and recieved CB Anthony Henry.

Cowboys get a serviceable backup QB, Lions get help for a secondary that is beyond woeful.

Good for both teams? .....A starting cornerback traded for a malcontent, old, barely serviceable backup QB. A position you hopefully never have to use.

a) Anthony Henry isn't very good.
b) Romo isn't exactly what you would call "durable."
c) What if Romo's flight gets delayed in the Bahamas and he doesn't make it back in time after the bye week?

a) Anthony Henry isn't very good.
Can't be any worse than what the Lions already have.

So he wasn't completely worthless after all.

It's not a bad pickup. Considering we relegated Kitna to IR last season this is a + in my book.

Now the Lions won't even have Jesus on their side.

Who will lead the team prayers now?

I don't care how bad Henry is, he's got to be an upgrade. Any CB on any other team in the NFL is an upgrade.
Any chance he's friends with Demarcus Ware?

Any CB that ever played football, ever, is an upgrade over the shitty shit-for-cornerbacks that suited up for the Lions last year. The defensive backs shittiness has only been surpassed in shittiness by one shitty defensive unit ever in the history of football, and that is last year's shitty defensive line.
The faster the Lions get rid of players that were on last year's team, the better I like it. I don't care if next year's cornerbacks are naked poo-flinging hippies, they'll somehow between them scrounge up two interceptions by accident and therefore be an improvement over last year's bunch.

Now that I'm done laughing...
"I don't care if next year's cornerbacks are naked poo-flinging hippies"
Wouldn't there be a penalty in there somewhere? I'm sure they'd find a reason to throw a flag for something.

Either a choreographed celebration or illegal shi(f)t.
I wonder.....the Lions CB's last year were awful, but then again the whole defense was. You have to wonder if the secondary's struggles were party due to the abysmal pass rush that they had. Isn't the conventional wisdom that if you give any professional QB enough time they will complete a pass?
Eh....the pass rush wasn't super abysmal. It was bad, but their sack total is sort of semi respectable and probably actually a bit understated because teams passed less against the Lions than any other team. It was the run defense that was awful on historical levels, and the level of suckitude in this department can't be overstated. But the secondary bears the brunt of the blame for the pass defense, IMO.

henry might play FS if the lions need a FS
