Submitted by Dilla Dude on

Pert Tim Twentyman, the Lions have hired Randy Edsall as the new director of football research-special projects. Edsall had a 22-33 record in four and a half years as the head coach at Maryland.

"The football research department assists in all aspects of game preparation, and also provides information to the coaching, personnel and football administration departments to help improve the team’s decisions in the draft, free agency and on gameday."

Is it just me, or does "director of football research-special projects" sound kind of like a title the government would give someone whose real job is to kill people with an ice pick while they sleep???

You know, I hadn't really thought about Edsall since he was let go at Maryland, and perhaps even then I didn't think about him all that much - like most people, I admittedly only part partial attention when someone is talking about Maryland football. That being said, one of the last place I would have thought Edsall would end up is back in the NFL, and especially with the a tam like the Lions in this capacity. Then again, somehow it is poetic.

to be fair we cant just look at his record at Maryland. He was great at UCONN and transitioned them into the Big east. With that said Lions lol
