OT - Lakers go from adidas to Nike... and are unhappy about the shade of yellow used

Submitted by kehnonymous on

As Michigan fans, we probably have the same feelings about this that you might concerning rainy nuptials or a fly in your Chardonnay:

As NBA fans are doubtlessly aware, this season the league followed our precedent in switching from adidas to Nike proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that we truly are the leaders and best.

However the transition to Nike hasn't gone nearly as smoothly for one of the NBA's marquee franchises  And you'd think that fans of a historically popular team Would Definitely be upset about this.  So, where to start?

For one thing, the jerseys are flimsy as crepe paper:

And even worse, many Laker fans (myself included), dislike the particular shade Nike chose for the iconic gold jerseys, claiming that it's almost a highlighter shade of yellow:

Irony is a harsh mistress indeed.

Can we please be done talking about Nike vs Adidas? it was annoying enough when Michigan was involved, but now we have to talk about the Lakers? Fuck the Lakers, and fuck these apparel threads.

yeah, sorry about that - I can sincerely understand apparel thread fatigue and did debate about the boardworthiness of this - however, the irony that someone else did the same thing we did (adidas--->Nike) but had the same problems we had with adidas greatly amused me and I figured MGoOthers might get a chuckle at that, too.  At least I didn't dilly dilly?

The NBA is better when the Lakers are a competitive franchise. Cavs vs warriors 4.0 is getting old. I used to love the nba but nowadays it is so watered down with so many fouls, and only a few teams that can compete for a title. Golden states super team is just ridiculous. I wish there was more parity in the nba.
