Probably a good decision. Ownership/management is pathetic now & if he got fired again (as the article said) he may never get another shot. Wait for a real job, not the NFL's AAA team.

This news is all over the media here in Cleveland. I think our front office, affectionately know around these parts as the "Three Stooges",  has created an atmosphere so screwed up and disfunctional that nobody, not even Josh McDaniels, wants the job.

And that's saying something.  If you can get Josh McDaniels - Tim Tebow picking, 5-21 final record in Denver coaching, Josh McDaniels to say "thanks but no thanks" you've really accomplished something.

Lions fans rejoice.  No matter how bad things get - you can always look a few miles southward and laugh.

The saddest part of this article is clearly at the end - the last link leads to the results of a poll in which Browns fans voted Butch Davis the best Browns coach since the franchise was resurrected. Eric Mangini and Rob Chudzinski round out the top three in the poll.

This stinks.

I'm a Patriots fan. I get to see McDaniels' offense up close and personal every week. Everyone hypes of the Pats offense, but a lot of that has to do with Brady. A lot of it has to do with the system. I also think that BOB had a great positive effect too.

I don't really have a lot of nice things to say about McDaniels. I think that he's a good coach, but I hate his playcalling. For me, the Pats offense is about ball control and moving the chains. While Brady has thrown for a lot of touchdown passes, most of them seem to come on long, grinding possessions, enabled by the quick passing game. McDaniels likes to take more shots down the field and for me, waste downs. I mean, it was easier when you had Gronk and killer, but you've got to adapt to your talent. I don't think he's done that very effectively.

This is why I would not have been bummed if McDaniels would have left. Yeah, I'm nitpicking on an otherwise really good OC. I'm spoiled. I'm sorry guys.

They fired their last hand picked head coach after 1 season. The guy has to find another job, move to another city and find another house. Given the circumstances he did a fairly good job and yet still got canned. What coach worth a damn is going to want to work under these circumstances........? None.

Well done, Mr. Haslam. You and your army of sycophants have created an environment that can foster new blood and new ideas along Lake Erie. How about we hire Lane Kiffin for a year to see how it works out?

Reports that McDaniels pulled himself out, becuase when asked if he was the front runner the Browns organization told him "No". That has to be the worst ran organization if football by a long shot.
