OT: Jets DT Sheldon Richardson arrested for fleeing cops at 143 mph

Can someone tell me how this man isn't going to jail for years? He was going 143 mph with a 12 year old and a loaded handgun in the car while reeking of weed. That's quite the offense.

It does say he was clocked at 143 mph and then accelerated when the police tried to pull him over. So he could have been going any speed at that point.
