OT: The "It's Way Too Early on Friday, But This Day Already Blows" What Are You Drinking Tonight Thread
Yes, I know it's the morning, but it's Friday, and my day already sucks! So what is everyone drinking tonight? I'm thinking a post-work sixer of Fat Tire will get me started for the Wings' and Spring Game tomorrow! Also, any big, cool tailgate ideas for tomorrow?
Same as any Friday night. How 'bout them new cans with the cold indicator? Yeah baby! Now I know when it's cold enough to drink. That's always been a problem for me. As I would drink it I'd be thinking, "Gee, it seems cold enough but without some kind of indicator how the hell can I be sure? Aaaargh!" Now, it's a no brainer. Thank you, Busch Light!
Not to mention the Bud Light bottles where you can write on them now. I didn't know anyone put down their beer at any point while drinking it long enough to need their name on it so they can identify it in a lineup of similar beers.
that now the stalkers know which one belongs to the object of their obsession. This could make it easier for them to tamper with their drinks. These things are just not safe. Way to think this one through, Bud Light.

I work at a radio station and we have our club night tonight. I'll probably have a couple bud lights while I'm there. Tomorrow is a big festival in Louisville, KY so I'll probably hit the bar for some Blue Moons and Smithwick's.
Newcastle Draughtkeg. Maybe I'll go pick up a sixer of Oberon, too.

Wow...I just noticed that I seem to have lost 1500 mgopoints? anyone else missing some or did I get blasted to Bolivia and not know it?
500 or so. I think Brian got the points system back up and running because they all said "expiry" when I checked it out.

I can no longer see mgopoints for individual posts and replies...I got plussed 100k a year ago for Brian, which have now expired. Time to work my way back up again.

Didn't this same thing happen at one point last year? I remember there was a time when Magnus passed Brian in total points and someone mentioned it to him. He went and looked at the code and realized that points only stay up for a year so he updated it to always keep track of points. Looks like this will be another thing for him to update.

yep, I have made some dumb posts in the past, but a couple years ago I was negbombed into Bolivia by Brian for using a banned word to describe MSU...A year ago today, that neg bomb expired and brought me up to like 10000. It appears that reversal has now expired and I am back where I was over a year ago.
I've got a couple friends coming into town, and I'm getting fuuuuuuuuuuuuucked up tonight. Probably starting with Oberon, and will be drinking straight liquor(from the bottle) by the end of the night.

I stopped following that rule a long time ago.
I don't drink frequently anymore. But when I do, there's about a 95% chance of hangover anyways.

Let's be honest that's mostly a rule for people who are either drinking obscene amounts or who are inexperienced.
To me the far more pertinent rule is don't mix red wine in quantity with anything oh my god the hangover.
Wow isn't that the truth. Red wine plus anything else equals bad news bears for me
a few glasses of expensive beer until I get buzzed enough where a Busch light tastes like a Shorts. Then my options include Busch, Canada house whiskey or bagged wine. Or all three.

then splitting a bottle of wine after, picked up a very good Israeli Moscato for anyone whos significant other likes that kind of thing. It's sweet, but not awful wine. Definitely for dessert/after dinner

My day already sucks. So I made 1 L of an anaerobic cell culture to overexpress a protein with a cell line that has a promoter that is inhibited by oxygen. When I left last night it was looking fine. The Nitrogen line to the culture was bubbling normal and it wasn't foaming up. Well I guess in between 6pm and when I left the lab, it foamed up and about 800 ml of the culture blew right through the exhaust line. I came to the lab with the lab bench all covered in dried up culture. There goes three days of work...damn it. I need a drink.
