You know you're drunk when you post a Saturday drinking thread on Sunday.
there with you. Drinking on a Sunday watching the 'Tailgate 48' on DVR.
Reading a book, with season 1 episode 4 of the walking dead in the background, sippin on a water.
But I'm catching up on Breaking Bad...logged in a solid 4 or 5 hours today. Putting back a few gin and tonics with the wife.
An eptiaph that I envy over all others......
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat - a great combination of Michigan and Boston - two of my favorite places.
blah. Call me a beer snob, but I've always hated the fruit-infused beers/stouts.
The more hops/alcohol, the better, IPAs or Trippels for me kthnksbye.
You're a beer snob.
Yeah, I agree it is certainly over-done, and is taken to an absurd extreme in many offerings.
The cherry wheat is a timeless classic, and very crisp on a warm summer's evening, however.
Could have guessed that your next statement after call me a beer snob was going to be something in favor of IPAs. IPAs are so overrated and way too trendy these days.
3/4 bottle of Cava after homemade fetticune carbonara (more authentic w/ prosseco, but do not care).
2 bottles of Dogfish 90 minute IPA. Somewhat reasonable substitute for Hopslam. but damn do I miss Bells and Founders out here in the People's Republic of Maryland.
Will be hitting all you can drink brunch in DC at 1130. Mmmmmm sangria and Bloody Marys.
Sipping on Jim Beam and ginger ale. Just finished watching Candy Man, a movie that I have tried multiple times and (until tonight) was never able to finish. For whatever reason, whenever I tried to watch this movie, I would inevitably be interrupted, a trend that began when I was in middle school. Tonight, I am a man.
Ack Ack
which sucks, but I'm starting to watch The Office (I've seen a few episodes here and there, but never actually watched it).
Anyone have any good two person drinking games? "Start chugging when this cool line comes on in the song" is getting a bit stale.
1 vs. 1 Beer Pong
but sadly I don't have a table. Even if I wanted to jerry-rig something, my BAC prevents going to buy cups and balls.
There is a pretty cool two-person game called match that I played a lot last year. Basically you roll dice and flip cards until you have a card with same number as the die total. Once you have the card you have to be first to yell "match!", and the loser drinks. It's effective and fun, but it's a little stale from overplay.
I don't count season one b/c there are not many episodes to it. Maybe six? Also, the writing is better after season one.
Cheap 6 pack of Molson, playing some F1 2011 and pretty bored on a saturday night.
Surly Coffee Bender.
Yum
soon to be followed by a couple old fashions of Maker's Mark on the rocks.
It just got real up in here...just tossed some MF Pizza Rolls in the oven.
Pizza Roll Update: They are as delicious as expected; especially the partially popped open ones.
My buddy ran out for a beer run earlier and came back with Magic Hat No. 9, pizza rolls, and heads or tails double stuffed oreos. After all of that was consumed, we took a drunked walk down a shady dirt road. Solid night if I do say so myself.
Started the night taking shots of Denaka citron... terrible right? Ended up chilling with Glenn Robinson III and Caris Levert at a friend's place. Interesting turn on an otherwise average night in Ann Arbor.
Hardcore thinking about my future and attending UM with Project X soundtrack in the background. Throwing back Diet Pepsi's like I'm drinking.....Diet Pepsi.
terrible...but it does the trick. could be worse
or burnetts 100 proof for that matter...try chugging that involuntarily
Stella artois after a 7 mile run!
So tonight I'm not drinking but looking for places I can afford on a production assistant's salary in the LA area.
Sorry for the incredibly down post. Tonight's been the exact opposite of all the "Hello" posts I've ever read put together. I'm really unsure about my future and this is kind of a scream into the void.
Never been in that long of a relationship, but I would think it helps to hear people outside of the situation give some input. Sometimes you just have to move on and realize things weren't working out. Plenty of fish, etc. Being single isn't always that bad of a thing.
I don't know how much of this part happened to you but we sort of threw away or gifted much of my stuff for consolidation purposes when we moved in with each other. She's with family now so I feel like I'm in a sort of mausoleum of relationship past. It will help I think when I acquire things like a bed and a television that I can call my own.
I bet it helped having the bustle of grad school for you. I'm unfortunately not in such a community, but I used to be really into writing for the E3W and I came out here doing stand up so I'm hoping to pep talk myself back into that direction.
What was the timeline on yours fading?
I've been there, man. My five-year relationship ended my first year of graduate school. It sucks, and there's not really anything anyone can say. You're going to feel like Hell for awhile. Especially when you do/see things that remind you of her. It does eventually get better, and eventually you'll even be able to look back on this without feeling like there are shards of glass in your heart. Hang in there.
