OT-Interested to see if Kiffin gets his QB today...Jesse Scroggins.

Submitted by ggoodness56 on
Jesse Scroggins, the last top 10 Pro-Style QB on Rivals list....decides between 3 large schools today...USC, Florida, or Tennessee. From Vols sources it is between USC and Tennessee. Scroggins is from California. With all of the crap going on with Kiffin, it would be interesting if he pulled a QB at this level. It almost would then beg the question, is it viable that your head coach can act like a dumbass...and it works?

Alot of Scroggin's family is in Memphis area, so there's some local ties there for him. Alot of articles I've read are pointing to USC landing Scroggin, but you just never know.

where they won't see time on the field until the JR and/or SR year? If any, I would pick Tennessee because the depth chart is more favorable(by a big margin) and if he has any aspiration of going to the NFL, I would try to go to a school where you can play for at least 3 years because experience matters for a QB more than any other positions.

around the country. Matt Stafford, Josh Freeman started for 3 years. There are young QB who is most likely going to start for 3 years like TP, Robert Griffin III. Tate Forcier could be a 3 year starter if he doesn't get outplayed or have poor performance. More and more QBs are playing as a freshman, if not as RS freshman.

Carson Palmer. Elvis Grbac. John Navarre. Chuck Long. Graham Harrell. Curtis Painter. Chase Daniel. Brady Quinn. Ron Powlus. Kerry Collins. (this year) Adam Weber at Minnesota. Colt McCoy. Sam Bradford. Tim Tebow. Juice Williams (4-year) Jake Locker. Clausen (ND). Todd Reesing.

the rule. He may be a one year wonder with the Patriots because everything fell into place for him that year with Brady being hurt, having Randy Moss and Wes Welker at WR and a smart coach who knows how to utilize Cassell.

Though ESPN has him as a JR... I think he is a SR... Plenty of starts under his belt and since Tate says they have similar styles, hopefully we have these stats to look forward to... Stats Overview Passing YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT 2006 217 318 2570 68.2 8.08 72 29 7 14 161.82 2007 276 424 3303 65.1 7.79 62 22 18 24 139.16 2008 332 433 3859 76.7 8.91 91 34 8 24 173.75

Even if Scroggins goes to UT, I wouldn't say that Kiffin's idiocy has "worked." The man has already ostracized the entire coaching staff of the SEC, two highly-regarded quarterbacks who wanted to play for him, and, somehow, the entire town of Pahokee, Florida. He is a trainwreck thus far.

But I don't think pissing off the other league coaches matters much. Worked for Steve Spurrier. As much as I'd like Kiffin to be an epic failure at UT, I have this suspicion things are going to work out, or at least I suspect he won't be the disaster people are hoping for / predicting. He put together a phenomenal staff. The university has given him a lot of leeway, and he seems to be recruiting okay. No one knows if he can be a good head coach yet. I don't think the Raiders gig translates. I hope he lasts. It's fun to have jerk coaches to root against.

It has been a guilty pleasure of mine to peruse the volnation message boards as they continue to miss out on prospects. And it is beginning to be "leaked" that he has committed to usc

Haha, Irish, it seems we share the same guilty pleasure. Alot of fun reading Tennessee board meltdowns over missing out on QB prospects. Then again, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the board meltdowns on BGS's Haloscan threads during 2007 season. Damn there were some good stuff there.

Is anyone as annoyed as I am that Lane Kiffen is married to this? http://bitcast-a.v1.ord2.bitgravity.com/sportelligence/images/blog/dfde… Seriously, for a guy who can barely eek out a sentence before he has to jam his foot into his mouth you've gotta kinda wonder how he managed to bag that minx. I'll say this, I would give UT serious consideration if i thought dinners at the Kiffen's might be a semi-regular occurrence. Never know when an "older" lady might be looking to get motor-boated.

Feldman said in his blog post today that Tyler Bray will be Kiffin's new target: "Tennessee, which just missed out on Jesse Scroggins, figures to make a move soon" Sounds like he may have let that slip a little early before the CFB Live show today. whoops.
