OT Imploring UM fans to not go "Red Cedar"

Submitted by SpreadGuru on

On the eve on yet another New Year's Day bowl game, I just wanted to post this public service announcement to Michigan fans across the globe:

While we all hope for a win tomorrow, understand the following message.  If things go south, please don't get on here and sound like the Red Cedar Message Board on Saturday night.  They sat there and ripped coaches, players and everyone in between.  It was quite comical reading actually.  The phrase "Stay Classy Ann Arbor" has to be more than a MGOSHIRT.  Al Borges is OUR offensive coordinator.  Whether you agree with every call or not, that's our guy until Brady decides that he's not.  So let's root for our team, analyze the game but by no means should we act like Red Cedar whiny [plural naughty word] if things aren't "breaking our way."

Happy New Year

Mod edit: I'd venture a guess that a lot of the more fervent vitriol you're getting from this post was that one particular phrase. I know it's probably too late, but maybe this will help focus the future comments on the pros and cons of the entire OP. JGB.

I love it when someone tries to tell everyone here what to do, as if everyone here was some dolt in need of direction.  I'm just surprised he doesn't have "trips" in the downvote column yet.

It honestly goes with any fanbase and any internet message board.  Like I said above, the Kork Coupons, Tom Gholston, and I'll even add "Ohio" and "Fergodsakes" to the list.  It's about having fun and enjoying being in a niche environment.  You're surrounded by like-minded fans.  Have fun (and fergodsakes stop stalking rcmb).

I literally have no idea why this needed to be a post.  The mod edit makes it a bit clearer the intent, but seriously this isn't a pep rally.  It's a website.  On the internet.

People will complain, they will whine, and if UM wins people will be happy; if not, they will be sad.  UM fans seem to be a bit classier than other fan bases over time, but as I learned during the liveblogs we can be as reactionary as anyone.

And never felt the need to register until I saw this thread and felt the need to to express my displeasure. Seeing how I've been beaten to the much 50x over I'll just say don't ever assume that we'd stoop to the level of those douchebaggery-ridden booboisie at RCMB and I second EVERYTHING. Go Blue!
