OT - Harrison Twins Return to UK

Submitted by alum96 on

Since we're a basketball school... thought it was worth noting the Harrison twins just announced they are returning.  With that, "one and done" UK only lost Young and Randle from that loaded squad.

And somehow we lost more guys early entry to the NBA than UK did.

/Bang head through wall.

The Harrisons join returnees Alex Poythress, Willie Cauley-Stein, Marcus Lee and Dakari Johnson on next season's team. The six players, who could have all left early for the NBA draft, were the No. 3 through No. 8 scorers on the Wildcats. The top two scorers -- both freshmen in Julius Randle and James Young -- declared for the NBA draft.

The Wildcats also will add a stellar recruiting class again in 6-10 Trey Lyles (No. 6 in the ESPN 100), 6-11 Karl Towns Jr. (No. 9), 6-5 Devin Booker (No. 18) and 5-9 Tyler Ulis (No. 25).

Ive said it before and I'll say it again...I HATE KENTUCKY!!

They will now have 9 Mcdonalds AA's on their team...and hopefully no title to show for it.

...this is what I actually thought.  I saw the thread title and was puzzled becuase I hadn't recalled hearing they were raised overseas.

This week has been too long.

Without Randle and Young that's a very different team.  But yeah, it's pretty ridiculous that Michigan lost 4 non-senior players this year, and Kentucky lost two.

wonder how much that set calipari back.

I don't know if it's true, but read on a news site earlier that he has 10 top tier recruits still and only has lost 2.  That's a loaded roster.  Not sure how you keep all the ego in check.

Yet, only one basketball to go around.  Let's see how well Calipari can manage all the ego's in that locker room next year.  Would love to see a complete meltdown of that team.

NCAA sanctions follow the guy wherever he goes.  It's only a matter of time before he leaves KY and the NCAA swoops in to prove they have everything under control. Coaches should be held responsible for the actions that take place during their tenur.  If they leave coaching, then it should fall on the school.  That would stop coaches who were obviously leaving from doing something stupid with no fear of repercussions.

some kind of sick joke of a day?  Quick, Devin Funchess blow out your ACL and Gary Harris change your mind and come back to MSU.

hmmmm, interesting. I really thought that entire starting five would leave. Also, yeah we lost more, but they were sophomores. The twins are freshmen and could likely benefit from one more year in college.

How do they have room for the four guys they are bringing in?  Did they have senior scholorship players that graduated?  I thought they were coutning on everyone going pro to have enough room for their incoming class.

Apparently they had 12 scholarship guys this year, with Poulson and Hood being seniors, they had spots for 3 freshmen.  Randle and Young leaving actually gives them 5 spots open.  They could still take another player, though I can't imagine anyone decent going there to be the last guy on the end of the bench.

Poythress will see little playing time like this year he should really transfer where he could get a lot more playing time. Since he is 6'8" 240lbs I wonder who could really use his size? Maybe he should come to Michigan.

I asked my wife to punch me in my newly callused dong to prove it's desensitized given the recent string of direct sledge hammers to the dong.  I barely felt a thing.

Why?!?!? Why didn't you come to Michigan!!!???? I am happy we got MAAR but Booker would have been more of an impact player. And cleary he wasn't afraid of competition. Dammit.

Yep... I was thinking if Booker reconsidered.  Obviously when you commit at UK you assume your spot is open for immediate playing time.  Harrison is going to take up 30 min next year.

I thought they were leaving school to return to the United Kingdom, then remembered they were from Texas, then felt stupid, then resumed my overwhelming sadness...
