OT: Gregg Williams should be banned

Submitted by SamirCM on

Gregg Wiliams needs to be banned, his teams always are full of cheap shots. Today after going at Teddy Bridgewater's knees, his team gave him a concussion. Completely cheap shot that was completely uncalled for. After the hit, Teddy briefly lost consciousness.

The play was flagged, but I think that significant suspensions are in order.

Yeah it's a pattern with Williams and has been for a while, but what can the league do?  It's not like they can prove he's telling his players to be dirty.

Not a Vikings fan at all. But, what can the league do? Punish the players for breaking rules. The QB was sliding - to give himself up. At that point, he's not expecting to get hit a d he got nailed to the head. Those are two violations on the same play. Punish the players to the point that if a coach suggests they do something dirty that they say no. Make them fear the punishment more than they want to please their coach. The NFL fines these guys more for uniform violations than they do for dirty hits. The NFL has become a total joke.

I completely agree. The NFC championship game was horrible. I know Favre does not have many fans here, but they were trying to hurt him, bad.

The shot today with the elbow was brutal.  The NFL is a joke if they do nothing.

I know it will still be a brutal game, but this guy needs to be used as an example.  Guilty till proven innocent.

Similar feeling to the O'Neill MSU game.  Not the same (MSU Game was worse), but similar. All Favre had to do was fall down and they kick a field goal and go to Super Bowl.

But the 98 Vikings were LOADED.  That was a heartbreaking loss. Damn Morten "Sparty" Andersen, damn him.

At least the Vikes have been to super bowls and been very good, so I can't complain to all the Lion's fans here.

I don't know how a franchise can be this bad for this long.

How about you also look at the fact that in both plays you pointed out the issues were with backup players. Hayes filling in for long hitting low late and Joyner playing after shuffling of Barron to lb to cover ogletree. These are young guys playing aggressive and trying to stick with the starting unit.

Bountygate was an absolute joke. Everybody in the league did that same nonsense. If you don't think so then you're naive. But that happening to him doesn't mean that every time a young defensive unit makes a late hit its because they were told to be dirty. Their discipline in general is shit. There were like 10 defensive offsides in that game.

Brady should be banned, too. After all, he's the one who encouraged Marcia to back out of her date with poor ol' Charlie when the star QB wanted to hit on her. Served her right to get a football in the nose!
