walking around town and getting into an argument. its kind of like a mobile jeweler. who is going to be safer, the business which has set security or the fool sporting his stash around town?

Don't you mean GR II?

October 26th, 2015 at 7:25 PM ^
Not sure why cannibis is still illegal there. What a waste of taxpayer resources.
October 26th, 2015 at 7:43 PM ^
The last thing this country needs is more legal intoxicants to deaden our youths' minds and further denegrate this nations already failing workforce. Do you want your kids riding on a bus after the driver has smoked a pipe of "legal" marijuana. Do you want your doctor diagnosing your illness after abusing that hashish oil? Let alone the increase in potency. I don't want to be driving on the same roads as these potheads. And we're going to have newborns with birth defects from their mother's abuse.
October 26th, 2015 at 7:47 PM ^
Your rants are becoming somewhat of a trademark. Keep up the good work.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:06 PM ^
Your comment is kind of ironic given the expression on DB in your avatar. Lolz
October 26th, 2015 at 7:48 PM ^
Maybe we should give prohibition a try - how could it possibly fail.
October 26th, 2015 at 7:51 PM ^
Much as I like the idea of anthropomorphizing legal intoxicants, they really aren't capable of "denigrating" our workforce.
To your point, though, while alcohol is legal despite being incredibly dangerous in its effect on judgement, the vast majority of bus drivers and doctors don't actually practice their craft under the influence. And there are plenty of legal recreational or prescriptive products out there that cause birth defects or low birth weight. You actually reason like you are wasted.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:01 PM ^
Hate to break it to you, but the examples you cite are already happening.

You do understand that "bus driver" can get his weed and smoke it regardless if it's legal or not right? You are driving on the roads with potheads every day regardless if it's legal or not. Honestly, it's probably easier for kids to get pot than alcohol because it's not regulated. It's way to easy to get it now days and who knows where the fuck the billions of dollars spent on it are going.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:43 PM ^
Well some (or lots) of those billions helped pay for the tunnel and assorted Ketner things to spring El Chapo from prison.
October 26th, 2015 at 10:05 PM ^
Good luck finding Mexican weed in Colorado. It no longer exists. Local businesses have 100% replaced it with quality product and are building a nice little economy.
October 27th, 2015 at 10:42 AM ^
I know that when I was in high school (think around Y2K) it was far easier for us to get weed than alcohol. We spent countless hours finding liquer stores that wouldn't look TOO closeley at our fake I.D.'s and asking peoples older siblings to buy us booze, but when we wanted weed, we made a phone call and had it in 10 minutes. I know the same goes for kids today because when my students talk about wanting weed to be legal, I bring up that it would likely make it about as hard for them to get as alcohol and they usually change their mind about wanting it legalized (obviously short sighted but they are teenagers).
October 27th, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
You don't remember when you were in high school? Maybe weed IS bad for you...

We're all in favor of our kids playing tackle football causing people to get concussions but god forbid someone smoke a plant.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:57 PM ^
Some actual research is looking like The pot might actually help with concussions.
October 26th, 2015 at 10:39 PM ^
the NFL is against it.
October 27th, 2015 at 7:48 AM ^
Of course pot helps with concussions. It's just like stem cells; it helps with everything. In fact, I think they should make pot-stem cell smoothies and give everyone a freebie every day...
October 26th, 2015 at 8:11 PM ^
Right, because legalizing a substance means we can't regulate its use. That's why we allow people to drive drunk.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:34 PM ^
Bom,
It's legal where I live and I sure as heck don't partake. Spending billions of dollars to prohibit a vegetable is extremely idiotic, especially when it has many beneficial effects, such as anti-cancer. That's my opinion.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:48 PM ^
Weed most certainly isn't "anti-cancer," that's a tired misinterpretation of the research every stoner likes to repeat. But it's not true, nor is it in any way necessary to a reasonable position on legalization.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:54 PM ^
I should have been more specific. Cannabis oil has been shown to have many anti cancer properties.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:05 PM ^
There is no scientific consensus on this, in fact some of the same research on cannabinoid effect on individual cells has also demonstrated the opposite - that they can aggravate tumor cells and/or damage healthy cells. And we're talking about high concentrations that one could never achieve outside a laboratory.
There is some evidence that weed does better than placebo at ameliorating the negative side effects of chemo. But that's it (though that's enough in my book to support medicinal use).
October 26th, 2015 at 9:08 PM ^
You are obviously well learned in this area. There are however many things anti-cancer that do not have scientific studies behind them.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:19 PM ^
That is very true. I myself am an anti-cancer guy (boo cancer!) and there hasn't been any scientific studies on me.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:22 PM ^
Ok, but how do you make the "anti-cancer" claim without scientific research? There are all sorts of claims, yet cancer rates persist or actually worsen and the only things proven to cure or prolong life are the old triumvirate of surgery, chemo and radiation.
I hear this all the time, my gf is an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese medicine, and I have spent a lot of time in China, but the only thing Chinese medicine has to show with respect to cancer outcomes is slightly elevated rates of kidney cancer due to some of the toxic herbs they put in people's bodies.

...on this subject is being conducted by my colleague, Dr. Kush.
October 27th, 2015 at 10:50 AM ^
Kush appears to be an adjective on that sign, not a noun. It's not Dr. Kush. It's more like Louis Freeze, Kush Doctor.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:33 PM ^
I prefer my kids' busdrivers to be taking belts of whiskey.
I'm old school that way.
October 26th, 2015 at 8:53 PM ^
Then maybe raise your kids right? Just saying.
October 26th, 2015 at 9:09 PM ^
And what makes you think this isn't happening already? Someone who wants weed is going to find a way to get it. And what's to stop some bus driver or doctor from downing a flask of whiskey before heading off to work? I suppose you're going to tell me that's not the point, right?
But hey, if you think it's a good idea to spend billions of taxpayer dollars a year to outlaw a plant that is far less harmful than alcohol, then I guess that's your business.

Because the prohibition thing is working so well, as evidenced here.
Know what ended guys with illegal liquor? The 21st Amendment.

or just emotional rubbbish disproven over and over. One of the 2 anyway!
October 26th, 2015 at 11:25 PM ^
You must work for the cartels, a govt task force or a private prison corp because at this point those are really the most vocal people against legalization of marijuana.
October 27th, 2015 at 8:36 AM ^
Old and ignorant is no way to go through life but you can still do something about the latter. You should educate yourself about cannabis. Could be helpful wisdom in your twilight years.
