This story, more or less as it has been shown in the TV show so far, surfaces in the 5th book (A Dance With Dragons), which is why I said they shifted the timing of various events around. If you want to know more (SPOILER ALERT, obviously), look here:

Pretty sure he has chapters, just listed as Reek or other names.
This is a shitty comment.
If you are going to tell spoilers outside of this episode - at least include a disclaimer:
*spoilers bout books 3 and 4
This thread was about GoT, but one would assume it means this recent episode, not the entirity of the book series to date.
In the future, please participate more thoughtfully with disclaimers at least so that others can join this thread - or - start your own "Game of Thrones w/ Book insight" thread.
Come on guys, is it that hard?
The information is the same whether you read the books or not. The difference is the matter of the point-of-view chapters and from whom the information is passed through. I have been vague on purpose.
To add to the confusion, Martin's approach to writing the subsequent books is....non-linear. Making it difficult even for readers to follow certain characters at times. My whole point is that this is a treat for readers who know better, while non-readers would have never known the difference and it is ultimately a testament to the directors.

I'm not that upset, but I disagree that it isn't a spoiler. To know Greyjoy will be around and central (book version) several TV seasons from now - that is a spoiler. A TV show that lets Ned Stark can get his head chopped off is a TV show where anything can happen. Many foks, me included, aren't/weren't too sure that Greyjoy would live more than even one more episode.
However, I do appreciate you not commenting on my many spelling mistakes in my last post. So you have that going for you.

Agreed. We know what happened to Theon, but we don't really know what happened to Theon, if you get my drift. For the sake of the people who haven't read the books, and for the continuity of the plot, we're learning it.

the "only so many fucks" meme in this thread. I love that one. .
I agree with what Tom from AA said above though, please try not to talk about things that happen in the books that have not yet been revealed on the show for those of us that haven't read the books!
