absolutely no idea what motivation Jamie would have to save Tyrion.  The last time he discussed Tyrion was on a boat sailing for Dorne and said, and I quote "the next time I ever see my brother again I am going to kill him."  I don't think a whole lot has changed since then that would change that stance.  Yes, Jamie's children have died, but that could easily be seen as resulting from events set in motion by Tyrion.  I don't think Jamie is swimming in brotherly love for Tyrion.  And I don't think Euron could get to Tyrion either.

I think there is a good chance Jamie will kill Cercei, but I don't think he will (or would) choose Tyrion over Cercei, at all.

Tyrion is the hand of Queen Dany, who has Dragon's, part of the Greyjoy fleet, the unsullied, Varys (who has recruited Dorne AND Highgarden), did I mention Dragons, etc.

If Euron brings Tyrion to Cersei without first getting through all that (and I'm not sure how he'd do that unless he busts out the horn and woos the dragons), Jaime could have a choice of saving Tyrion and coming over to what seems like a much stronger side, or sticking with Cersei and the Ironborn, who he just said were worthless.

I nearly had a Randy Marsh moment when Danny hit shore. I never thought I'd live to see it. Cersei is in a very dark place and so am I because she killed Natalie Dormer's breasteses.

but have read all the long ass books. I've been waiting for Martin to finish writing book 6. I wonder if this will be different than the HBO's story line.

I don't think GRRM would just willingly stop writing the books, but the longer he delays, the greater the odds that his health works against him. The dude looks like he could have a heart attack any moment, and he's already nearly 70 with no release date for TWoW in sight and another book left to write after that. Do people think he'll live (and more importantly, continue to write) until he's 80 or 85? I'm skeptical. Honestly, maybe he does finish TWoW, but I have this feeling that he keels over before he finishes the series.

I have feeling that as long as he has enough notes, that the story will be finished by a guest writer. This happened with Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time when Brandon Sanderson finished it up and actually helped with the series finishing in three books. I feel like if Jordan was still alive we would be waiting for like the 18th book by now.

that he has cashed in big time with the tv series though?  That guy is never again going to want for anything.  He's almost 70 years old, not that that prevents him from finishing his novel series, but it seems that he's on the shorter end of the sword.  I'm a cynic by nature though, but would still very much love for him to finish things off so many of us can enjoy them.

Unclear who the Targaryen who can't be trusted is. My initial thought was Jon, which seems like what they were suggesting (Bran making his grand return and R+L=J reveal?), but thinking about it more I wonder if they find out about Dany and he was talking about a potential alliance with her. Also, I feel like the King's Landing talk was a misdirection, unless the trailers were just trolling us. And I'll be interested in seeing what Euron's gift is (Tyrion would make sense, although I'm not sure Euron can deliver), and if it's related to the gift Cersei returns per the episode 3 info blurb.

Jon will receive a note from Sam about Dragonstone having a shitload of dragonglass on it (remember Jon was talking about how they need to mine for dragonglass in this weeks episode) and talk to his lords up north about going to treat with the dragon queen to allow them to mine the dragonglass to make weapons... This is all setting up a Jon/Dany meeting this season.

Once Sam gets word to Jon about the trove of dragonglass at Dragonstone, Jon will have to go parlay with her. Edit: Hey Shakespeare,"It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves."

She's hanging on by smoke and mirrors and the Mountain. When she was talking to her brother about their situation, he said they had 3 kingdoms. The great houses are:

Stark - nope, unless he still thinks the Boltons hold the north

Tullys - nope, unless he thinks the Freys hold the Tully castle

Arryn of the Eyrie - nope, unless he thinks Littlefinger is still loyal to them

Lannisters - that's one

Baratheons - empty

Tyrells - nope, not after they got wildfired by Cersei

Dorne - nope, not after they murdered Myrcella

So what do they have exactly? They offed the Faith, so the zealots aren't going to come flocking to their aid. Their kids are dead so they can't arrange any alliances that way. They've played their wildfire card twice now, so that's not going to surprise anybody. Even their gold mines are empty. They got nothin'. I wouldn't be surprised to see Arya walk in the front door and off Cersei. I'm not sure what the whole point of the Ed Sheeran scene was, other than to say that the soldiers are just regular people with families and when she said she was going to kill the queen, they just chuckled, as if they were saying, yeah, I can see that.

I think that's exactly the point of the Ed Sheeran scene, that these are just (young) regular guys, guys with families, etc. Old Arya would have slaughtered anything Lannister on sight, but this seems like a good opportunity for her to evaluate whose deaths further her goals and which are just senseless and meaningless killing. So long story short I hope she's leaves them unharmed and a more developed person from the encounter.

...when she said she was going to kill the queen, they just chuckled, as if they were saying, yeah, I can see that.

More like, "Yeah, right. You're just a girl."

"You and what army?"

I think the three kingdoms are the Kingdom of the Rock, the Kingdom of the Stormlands, and the Kingdom of the Isles and Rivers, though the latter is in a power vacuum. Out are the Kingdom of the North, the Kingdom of the Mountain and the Vale, the Kingdom of the Reach, and the Principality of Dorne.

Remember, the seven kingdoms are actually nine (formerly 7 way back in the day).  Sorry for nerding out.  So, it's actually, it's easy to name three kingdoms under Lannister control:

The Crownlands (obviously)

The Westerlands (obviously)

The Riverlands (Jamie just took Riverrun, the Freys were murdered in the Twins, but Jaime likely is unaware of that atm. Even if he is aware, the Lannisters should still have Riverrun)

Then, I could even say that the Stormlands are assumed under Lannister control ever since Stannis bailed on them.  As we saw with Dany's return, Dragonstone was empty.

Iron Islands?  That could be an ally.  But not currently under Lannister control.

The remaining four are clearly opposing the Lannisters: the North, the Vale, Dorne, the Reach (Hightower, ruled by the Martells).
