OT: Friday what are you doing at work, what are you drinking, post something interesting, pos-bang thread
It's SOOOOOOO slow at work today, and there's so little content to be had in mid-June...post something for everyone else to read. Anything interesting, funny, OT...just in (relatively) good taste. I've read the whole site now, I think.
Edit: In case some mod thinks we don't need two pos-bang threads (because there's sooo much going on today) Michfan1997 demands an MGoJen update. (OK, demands might be too strong a word...powerfully requests?)
Incidently, trying to add that to the subject too, I have found out there IS a limit to how long a subject in a post can be.
So I'll be leaving at 1:30. Then its off to baseball practice with my son and tomorrow he's camping at David Garrard's football camp in Durham. Wife leaves town on Sunday and I'm going to put in a mailbox garden for my fathers day present to myself.
Contemplating how well the slightly sour/sweet champagne mangos from Costco will taste blended with frozen strawberries, rum, and Grand Marnier when I get home.
Also rubbing my hands at confronting a patient who is trying to get narcs from me after he was/is on suboxone treatment.
Delicious.
I was at the game. Garlin's singing was terrible - I think he may have been drunk.
Also, the "Let's go Tigers" chant broke out a few times stadium wide and seemed pretty loud. Hopefully it was audible on the broadcast.
Impressive outing by the Tigers fans yesterday.
for the Italian overlords. I can't stand a couple of the arrogant pricks that will be in the room. If they weren't paying me well, I'd post a pile of dog shit on slide three with an "EAT ME" caption.
One of my recent clients had just recently been acquired by a Spanish firm. The owner was a Franco supporter in WW2. Not going to say anything more, but its funny how oblivous people are to history.
Boss is out this week so as far as what I'm doing at work, well.... you're looking at it.
The wife is ditching me this weekend to go to a bachelorette party, so probably lots of hanging out in my underwear this weekend. Anyone see Promethius yet? I might go catch that during an afternoon showing this weekend.
1. Anyone downloaded the "Zombies Run" app for droid or iPhone? Seems like a fun concept...Worth the $8?
2. 10 team 3 keeper ppr. Keeping A Rodgers and G Jennings...Do I keep Gates or Shonn Greene?
final day of the school year, have no other responsibilities until August....WOO HOO
I went to Ann Arbor of the night to see the girlfriend, now I'm headed up north or the weekend. Should be a good one.
Why not Ann Arbor of the day?
The nastiest and dirtiest of then too. One day I hope to be IN a pool, not picking dead livestock out..
After many delays in the construction I think my vet clinic is going to be open by the end of next week.
Leaving for a job as a camp counselor in the White Mountains of New Hampshire early tomorrow morning so I have been busy today getting my affairs in order. Will have no internet connection for 2 months so I guess this is goodbye for now.
How would we have known you were gone?
I'm kind of pissed that I found this OT open thread after posting in the other one.
#firstworldproblems
First day of summer break. I'm planning on doing nothing until September.
That I'm thinkin' about how many prunes Herm had for breakfast. May God have mercy on my pitiful soul...
Prune pitiful soul?
So, I have had frozen blueberries on my recently surgically assaulted blueberries while trying not to enjoy the Vicodin too much.
My urologist is a Michigan grad, so we actually talked about Michigan football while he did it.
It's funny, usually when I think about this football program, I get warm and tingly in the right places. Yesterday, I was trying to talk in between sharp stabs of discomfort at those very same parts.
TMI about your tinglies.
TMI
...Please NEVER combine MGo and vasectomy ever again. It's painful on too many levels. On a side note, I now also have an aversion to blueberries. Thanks pal.
We're all pals here..but not that close.
I love you so much.
Plans to go home and drink homebrew with the neighbors around the pool unless the omnious blob of storms in the eastern gulf heads this way (TBay)... Then we'll drink beer and play cards inside. Gonna brew a hybrid Belgian Strong + Black IPA Saturday and take the kids fishing on Sunday.
Drinking our customary Friday Beer (Shorts IPA today) at work a little early before heading up north.
Getting ready to leave since I hit my 40 hour mark 48 minutes ago and I'm not paid overtime. Fun part of the day: there was a beautiful brand new 2013 Lincoln MKZ - no, you can't buy one yet - parked in front of the building today where there always seems to be something gorgeous parked. Largely because those are the spots reserved for the real mucky-mucks.
Tonight is the Windsor Overnight race on the lake, and the wind forecasts look like ass so I'll probably be sitting on the boat fighting off fishflies and wishing I'd just gone to the dock party instead. 4-8 knots is what is known as "lame."
In DTW waiting to connect to GRR. Spent the last 4 days in Seattle for work...first time I've come back to Michigan to warmer air than where I left.
Flew into Atlanta yesterday and now performing unicode conversion for PeopleSoft Finance and Cognos reporting applications, obviously with enough time to get a quick mgoblog fix. On a bad note, missing fathers day with my family this weekend...bad timing for the prod conversion.
GIVE ME BACK MY LONGJOHN MOTHERF*CKER!!
a few posts up.
so we can upvote you more.
Or more accurately, amusing request.
On a lighter note, 1-year anniversary of the opening of Chick-fil-a in Chicago, got a free chicken sandwich for lunch.
More seriously, realized it's time for a change in career and am quickly deep into the process of trying to get ready for applying to MBA programs. Undergrad at Ross, really want to go to Fuqua for their Health Sector Management program...any MGoPoster's out there also Duke alumns?
I'm not a Duke alum but their Health Sector Management Program does intrigue me as well. However, I graduated last year from Ross BBA so I have a few more years before I should apply to the MBA programs. Are there other MBA programs you're looking at that specialize in Health Management? I believe Northwestern has a program like that as well.
Then Euro2012, then chill on the deck with some Two-Hearted Ale.
How would you rate Capital Grille compared to other steakhouses/restaurants? I've never gone but am always tempted to go.
Makes a pretty damn good steak.
Have been to Ruth Chris, Morton's, Flemings, Palms, and Capital Grille. On business, so ate better than on my own money. My choices are Ruth Chris and Morton's.
Damn this work day needs to end soon, yet the finish line keeps pulling away from me.
I will enjoy some beers tonight with added exuberance.
Then this:
Great choices!
Well, the strategy to keep other groups within the company out of our way went out the window yesterday. We got reorganized into another division within the company and are now in the same boat. Oh well, never a boring moment around here.
Want to get off this last conference call of the day and have a nice Shiner Wild Hare while watering the garden given its in the 90s today. Need to go back to Binny's and stock up again tomorrow. Choices, choices, choices....
I think you guys outted me. :(
Went to the Nats/Yankees game with a buddy of mine (Yankees fan) It was crazy how many Yankee fans were in DC for the game... "Let's go Jeter" was an audible chant...
all evening! Though the worse time to work is during a football season Saturday when Michigan is playing! I have to use my smart phone for score updates!
